Lower rates by qualifying for discounts
Some providers don’t necessarily list every policy discount very well, so here is a list both well-publicized as well as the least known credits available to bring down your rates.
- Theft Prevention Discount – Vehicles that have factory alarm systems and tracking devices are stolen with less frequency so companies will give you a small discount.
- Homeowners Savings – Just owning your own home may earn you a small savings since home ownership requires a higher level of personal finance.
- Bundled Policy Discount – If you have multiple policies and insure them both with the same insurance company you could earn a discount of at least 10 to 15 percent or more.
- ABS Braking Discount – Cars, trucks, and SUVs with ABS braking systems or traction control can avoid accidents and qualify for as much as a 10% discount.
- Drivers Ed for Students – Teen drivers should successfully complete driver’s ed class in school.
- Military Deployment Discount – Having a family member in the military may qualify for rate reductions.
- Include Life Insurance and Save – Some insurance carriers give a lower rate if you buy some life insurance in addition to your auto policy.
- Multiple Cars – Buying coverage for multiple cars with one company may reduce the rate for each vehicle.
- Discount for Good Grades – Excelling in school may save as much as 25% on a car insurance quote. This discount can apply until age 25.
As a footnote on discounts, some credits don’t apply the the whole policy. Most only apply to individual premiums such as physical damage coverage or medical payments. Just because you may think all those discounts means the company will pay you, it’s just not the way it works.

Compare quotes for insurance
Comparing insurance rates is a ton of work if you don’t know the best way to get rate quotes. You could spend your day driving to local insurance agents in your area, or you could use online quotes for quick rates.
The majority of car insurance companies enroll in a system that enables customers to submit their information once, and each participating company then returns a price quote for coverage. This eliminates the need for quote forms to each individual insurance company.
To find out how much you can save on insurance click here to open in new window.
The one downside to using this type of form is that consumers can’t choose which companies to get quotes from. So if you want to choose specific providers to compare, we have a page of the cheapest insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.
You can choose any of those ways to find more affodable coverage, but ensure you are comparing the exact same deductibles and coverage limits on every price quote you get. If you use different liability limits you will not be able to make an equal comparison. Just a small difference in limits may cause a big price difference. Keep in mind that quoting more increases the change that you will find a lower rate than you’re paying now. Some regional insurers cannot provide rate quotes online, so it’s important to also get quotes from them, too.
Insurance coverage is unique, just like you
When choosing coverage for your vehicles, there really is not a cookie cutter policy. Everyone’s situation is a little different.
These are some specific questions may help highlight if your insurance needs will benefit from professional help.
- Is my business laptop covered if it gets stolen from my vehicle?
- How can I get my company to pay me more for my totalled car?
- Is business equipment covered while in my vehicle?
- Can I afford low physical damage deductibles?
- Am I missing any policy discounts?
- If I drive on a suspended license am I covered?
- Am I covered when driving in Canada or Mexico?
- Is business property covered if stolen from my car?
- Is upholstery damage covered by car insurance?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, you may need to chat with a licensed agent. If you don’t have a local agent, complete this form.
Insurance policy coverages for a 1994 Mazda B-Series Pickup
Having a good grasp of your policy can be of help when determining the best coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. Policy terminology can be ambiguous and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording.
Coverage for collisions
Collision insurance will pay to fix damage to your B-Series Pickup from colliding with an object or car. You have to pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision coverage pays for claims such as scraping a guard rail, hitting a mailbox and damaging your car on a curb. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from lower value vehicles. You can also choose a higher deductible to save money on collision insurance.
Liability car insurance
This coverage provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to people or other property by causing an accident. This coverage protects you from claims by other people. It does not cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. Your policy might show values of 25/50/25 that translate to a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a limit of $50,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000.
Liability coverage protects against things like structural damage, funeral expenses, medical services, emergency aid and pain and suffering. How much liability coverage do you need? That is your choice, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as high a limit as you can afford.
Comprehensive insurance
Comprehensive insurance coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage that is not covered by collision coverage. You need to pay your deductible first and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive coverage pays for things like hitting a bird, a tree branch falling on your vehicle and damage from flooding. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP provide coverage for expenses such as doctor visits, pain medications, dental work and rehabilitation expenses. They are often utilized in addition to your health insurance program or if you do not have health coverage. It covers not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants as well as getting struck while a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is not an option in every state and may carry a deductible
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM)
This provides protection from other motorists when they either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered claims include medical payments for you and your occupants and also any damage incurred to your 1994 Mazda B-Series Pickup.
Because many people only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. So UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked.

Shop. Compare. Save.
When buying insurance coverage, it’s not a good idea to buy less coverage just to save a little money. In many cases, consumers will sacrifice liability limits or collision coverage and discovered at claim time that the savings was not a smart move. The aim is to purchase plenty of coverage for the lowest cost, but do not skimp to save money.
Drivers switch companies for any number of reasons including unfair underwriting practices, delays in responding to claim requests, not issuing a premium refund or questionable increases in premium. Regardless of your reason for switching companies, finding a great new company can be less work than you think.
You just read a lot of information how to reduce 1994 Mazda B-Series Pickup insurance prices online. The key concept to understand is the more providers you compare, the more likely it is that you will get a better rate. Consumers could even find that the best prices are with the smaller companies.
