Looking for the cheapest insurance coverage rates for your Subaru SVX? Have you finally had enough of wondering where the money will come from to pay your insurance coverage bill each month? You have the same problem as the majority of other drivers.
Insurance companies such as Allstate, Liberty Mutual and State Farm continually bombard you with TV and radio ads and it is difficult to ignore the flashy ads and effectively compare rates to find the best deal.
You need to get comparison quotes before your policy renews because prices tend to go up over time. Even if you got the lowest rates on SVX coverage a few years ago there may be better deals available now. There are lots of tips to save on insurance coverage online, but in a few minutes you can learn a lot of great tips on how to find affordable insurance coverage.
Don’t overlook these ten insurance discounts
Not too many consumers would say insurance is affordable, but you might be missing out on some discounts to help bring down the price. Some discounts will apply when you complete an application, but a few must be manually applied prior to receiving the credit.
- Homeowners Savings – Simply owning a home may trigger a policy discount on insurance because maintaining a house is proof of financial responsibility.
- Save with a New Car – Buying a new car instead of a used car can get you a discount because newer vehicles are generally safer.
- College Student – Kids who attend college more than 100 miles from home and don’t have a car can receive lower rates.
- Save with More Vehicles Insured – Having multiple cars with one company can get a discount for every vehicle.
- Organization Discounts – Being in specific professional or occupational memberships or organizations could qualify you for a break on your bill.
- Low Mileage Discounts – Low mileage vehicles could be rewarded with substantially lower premium rates.
- Discounts for Government Workers – Active or former government employment can save as much as 8% on SVX coverage with a few insurance companies.
- First Accident Forgiveness – This one isn’t a discount, but a few companies such as Libery Mutual, Geico and Allstate may permit one accident before they charge you more for coverage so long as you haven’t had any claims prior to being involved in the accident.
- Drive Safe and Save – Accident-free drivers can save up to 40% or more on their auto insurance quote on SVX coverage compared to accident prone drivers.
- Discount for Life Insurance – Some insurance companies give a break if you buy a life policy as well.
A little note about advertised discounts, some of the credits will not apply to your bottom line cost. Most cut individual premiums such as liability and collision coverage. Even though it may seem like you would end up receiving a 100% discount, insurance companies wouldn’t stay in business.
Larger insurance companies and a summarized list of policyholder discounts can be read below.
- Farm Bureau may have discounts that include youthful driver, multi-vehicle, driver training, 55 and retired, good student, multi-policy, and renewal discount.
- Liberty Mutual offers discounts for multi-policy, multi-car, preferred payment discount, good student, teen driver discount, and new move discount.
- State Farm offers discounts including driver’s education, good driver, anti-theft, accident-free, multiple policy, and passive restraint.
- Auto-Owners Insurance has savings for multiple vehicles, anti-lock brakes, safe driver, anti-theft, student away at school, air bags, and multi-policy.
- Geico may include discounts for military active duty, daytime running lights, federal employee, anti-lock brakes, emergency military deployment, and anti-theft.
- SAFECO offers premium reductions for anti-lock brakes, drive less, accident prevention training, bundle discounts, and safe driver.
If you need the cheapest auto insurance quotes, ask every prospective company which discounts can lower your rates. Discounts may not be offered in your area.

When to get professional advice
When it comes to buying coverage for your vehicles, there really is no perfect coverage plan. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs and a cookie cutter policy won’t apply. These are some specific questions could help you determine whether you would benefit from an agent’s advice.
- Do I have coverage when using my vehicle for my home business?
- Do I need rental car coverage?
- Am I covered when driving someone else’s vehicle?
- Does insurance cover tools stolen from my truck?
- Why am I required to buy high-risk coverage?
- Does coverage extend to a rental car in a foreign country?
- What companies insure drivers after a DUI or DWI?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions then you might want to talk to a licensed agent. If you don’t have a local agent, complete this form or you can also visit this page to select a carrier
Are insurance companies telling the truth?
Companies like Progressive, Geico, Allstate and State Farm seem to constantly run ads in print and on television. They all seem to try to convey promises about saving some big amount just by moving your coverage to them. That’s great but how can every company offer you a better deal? It’s all in the wording.
All the different companies give the cheapest rates for the type of driver that will generate a profit. A good example of this type of insured might be described as between the ages of 30 and 50, has few claims, and drives a safe vehicle. A driver that fits those parameters will qualify for the lowest premium rates and most likely will save if they switch.
Potential insureds who fall short of this stringent profile may be forced to pay higher premiums which leads to the customer buying from a different company. If you listen closely, the ads state “people that switch” but not “all drivers who get quotes” save that much money. That’s the way companies can truthfully advertise the way they do.
This really illustrates why you absolutely need to compare many company’s rates. It’s not possible to predict which company will have the best prices for your profile.
Auto insurance coverages 101
Knowing the specifics of your auto insurance policy can be of help when determining the best coverages and proper limits and deductibles. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording. Below you’ll find typical coverages found on the average auto insurance policy.
Collision – Collision insurance pays for damage to your SVX from colliding with another car or object. You will need to pay your deductible then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision coverage pays for claims like sustaining damage from a pot hole, backing into a parked car, colliding with a tree and sideswiping another vehicle. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are older. It’s also possible to raise the deductible to bring the cost down.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage – This coverage gives you protection from other drivers when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since many drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. So UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked. Usually these limits do not exceed the liability coverage limits.
Liability – This coverage protects you from damage that occurs to people or other property by causing an accident. It protects you from legal claims by others. Liability doesn’t cover your own vehicle damage or injuries.
It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. You commonly see limits of 25/50/25 that means you have a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, $50,000 for the entire accident, and a total limit of $25,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Alternatively, you may have one number which is a combined single limit which limits claims to one amount without having the split limit caps.
Liability coverage pays for things such as medical expenses, pain and suffering, emergency aid and court costs. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is up to you, but you should buy higher limits if possible.
Comprehensive coverage – Comprehensive insurance coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage from a wide range of events other than collision. A deductible will apply and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against claims such as hail damage, hitting a deer and damage from flooding. The highest amount your auto insurance company will pay is the actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider removing comprehensive coverage.
Medical payments coverage and PIP – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP kick in for expenses for X-ray expenses, nursing services and doctor visits. They are often used in conjunction with a health insurance plan or if you lack health insurance entirely. They cover not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants in addition to any family member struck as a pedestrian. PIP is not an option in every state but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

You can do this!
You just read a lot of tips how to shop for 1995 Subaru SVX insurance online. The key thing to remember is the more rate quotes you have, the higher the chance of saving money. You may be surprised to find that the best rates are with a lesser-known regional company. These smaller insurers can often provide lower auto insurance rates in certain areas compared to the large companies like State Farm and Allstate.
Cheaper car insurance is definitely available on the web and from local insurance agents, and you should compare price quotes from both to get a complete price analysis. A few companies may not offer rates over the internet and many times these smaller companies sell through independent agents.
