Looking for cheaper car insurance rates for your Acura CL? If price shopping car insurance quotes online is new to you, it’s easy to be baffled thanks to the vast number insurance agents and companies vying for business.
If you currently have a car insurance policy, you will most likely be able to lower your premiums substantially using these methods. Locating affordable coverage is simple if you know the tricks. Nevertheless, vehicle owners do need to learn the way insurance companies sell insurance online and apply this information to your search.
Buy insurance online
Shopping for lower insurance rates can be a daunting task if you don’t know the most efficient way to do it. You could waste a few hours driving to agents in your area, or you could save time and use the internet to get rates in a matter of minutes.
All the larger companies participate in a marketplace where prospective buyers only type in their quote data once, and every company provides a quote based on that data. This system prevents you from having to do form submissions for each company.
To compare pricing click here (opens in new window).
The one disadvantage to using this type of form is you are unable to specify the providers you want to price. If you wish to select from a list of companies to compare, we have assembled a list of low cost insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.
Take whichever approach you prefer, but make absolute certain that you use the exact same quote data on every quote. If you enter different coverage information it’s not possible to decipher which rate is best. Quoting even small variations in insurance coverages or limits could throw off the whole comparison. And when comparing insurance rates, know that having more price comparisons will increase your chances of finding more affordable rates.

Insurance agents can help
When choosing proper insurance coverage, there really is no single plan that fits everyone. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s.
Here are some questions about coverages that may help you determine if your situation may require specific advice.
- Does insurance cover tools stolen from my truck?
- What are the best liability limits?
- Does coverage extend to my business vehicle?
- Where can I get insurance after a DUI in my state?
- Is my state a no-fault state?
- What is the ISO rating for a 2002 Acura CL?
- Is motorclub coverage worth it?
If you’re not sure about those questions but you know they apply to you then you might want to talk to a licensed agent. If you don’t have a local agent, complete this form.
Coverage specifics
Learning about specific coverages of your auto insurance policy aids in choosing the right coverages and proper limits and deductibles. The terms used in a policy can be ambiguous and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording.
Medical expense insurance – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage reimburse you for short-term medical expenses like surgery, ambulance fees, chiropractic care, dental work and nursing services. They are often used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. It covers all vehicle occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not available in all states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Collision coverage – Collision coverage will pay to fix damage to your CL caused by collision with another car or object. You have to pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision can pay for things like colliding with a tree, hitting a parking meter, driving through your garage door and rolling your car. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are older. Another option is to increase the deductible to bring the cost down.
Liability – This protects you from injuries or damage you cause to other’s property or people. It consists of three limits, bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. As an example, you may have limits of 25/50/25 that means you have a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a total of $50,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000.
Liability coverage protects against claims like structural damage, bail bonds, court costs and emergency aid. How much coverage you buy is a decision to put some thought into, but buy higher limits if possible.
Protection from uninsured/underinsured drivers – Your UM/UIM coverage gives you protection when the “other guys” are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. This coverage pays for medical payments for you and your occupants and damage to your Acura CL.
Due to the fact that many drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, their limits can quickly be used up. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is very important.
Comprehensive (Other than Collision) – Comprehensive insurance coverage pays for damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first have to pay a deductible then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive can pay for things like hitting a bird, falling objects, fire damage and hail damage. The maximum payout your auto insurance company will pay is the actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
