Finding cheaper insurance for a new or used Acura RSX can turn out to be a painful process, but you can learn a few tricks and make it easy.
There are more efficient ways to shop for insurance coverage and we’ll show you the absolute fastest way to quote coverages for a new or used Acura and locate the best price possible from both online companies and local agents.
You should take the time to quote other rates before your policy renews since insurance rates are adjusted regularly by insurance companies. Just because you had the best premium rates on RSX insurance a year ago there is a good chance you can find better prices now. Ignore everything you know about insurance coverage because I’m going to let you in on the secrets to one of the best ways to buy cheaper insurance coverage.
The best way we recommend to compare rates is to understand most of the larger companies participate in online systems to give free rates quotes. The only thing you need to do is give the companies some data including your job, how much school you completed, coverage limits, and the ages of drivers. The rating information is instantly sent to all major companies and they return cost estimate with very little delay.

More discounts mean cheaper premiums
Not many people think insurance is cheap, but you might be missing out on some discounts that could help you make your next renewal payment. Some trigger automatically when you get a quote, but a few must be inquired about prior to receiving the credit.
- Waiver for an Accident – but companies like Liberty Mutual, Allstate and State Farm will forgive one accident without the usual rate increase so long as you haven’t had any claims for a set time period.
- Pay Now and Pay Less – If you pay your bill all at once as opposed to paying monthly you could save up to 5%.
- Lower Rates for Military – Having an actively deployed family member can result in better rates.
- Discounts for Good Drivers – Insureds without accidents can get discounts for up to 45% lower rates on RSX insurance than their less cautious counterparts.
- Senior Discount – Older drivers can possibly qualify for a slight reduction on a car insurance quote on RSX insurance.
- Passive Restraint Discount – Vehicles with factory air bags or motorized seat belts may qualify for discounts of up to 25% or more.
- Student in College – College-age children who live away from home at college without a vehicle on campus can receive lower rates.
- Braking Control Discount – Vehicles that have steering control and anti-lock brakes prevent accidents and therefore earn up to a 10% discount.
- Multi-car Discount – Insuring multiple cars on a single policy can reduce rates for all insured vehicles.
- Save with a New Car – Buying car insurance coverage on a new vehicle can cost up to 25% less because newer vehicles are generally safer.
Please keep in mind that some of the credits will not apply the the whole policy. A few only apply to individual premiums such as comp or med pay. Despite the fact that it seems like adding up those discounts means a free policy, companies wouldn’t make money that way.

It’s not one size fits all
When choosing adequate coverage for your vehicles, there isn’t really a single plan that fits everyone. Everyone’s needs are different.
These are some specific questions might point out whether or not you would benefit from an agent’s advice.
- Does my policy cover me when driving someone else’s vehicle?
- Is my business laptop covered if it gets stolen from my vehicle?
- Am I covered when using my vehicle for business?
- Is my custom paint covered by insurance?
- Do I need motorclub coverage?
- Will I be non-renewed for getting a DUI or other conviction?
- What is an SR-22 filing?
- Am I covered if my car is in a flood?
- Is borrowed equipment or tools covered if stolen or damaged?
- Do I have newly-aquired coverage?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions but you think they might apply to your situation then you might want to talk to a licensed insurance agent. To find an agent in your area, fill out this quick form. It’s fast, free and you can get the answers you need.
Auto insurance 101
Having a good grasp of your insurance policy can be of help when determining the right coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Collision coverage protection
Collision insurance pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from a collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision coverage protects against things such as crashing into a building, hitting a mailbox, colliding with another moving vehicle, damaging your car on a curb and driving through your garage door. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from lower value vehicles. Another option is to bump up the deductible to bring the cost down.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM)
This coverage provides protection when the “other guys” either have no liability insurance or not enough. Covered losses include injuries to you and your family and damage to your Acura RSX.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is important protection for you and your family. Most of the time your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages do not exceed the liability coverage limits.
Auto liability insurance
Liability coverage will cover damage or injury you incur to other’s property or people by causing an accident. It protects you from claims by other people. It does not cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. You commonly see liability limits of 25/50/25 which means a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, $50,000 for the entire accident, and $25,000 of coverage for damaged propery. Another option is a combined single limit or CSL that pays claims from the same limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability can pay for things such as court costs, medical expenses and pain and suffering. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is your choice, but consider buying as high a limit as you can afford.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance kick in for expenses like nursing services, prosthetic devices, surgery, hospital visits and chiropractic care. They can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. It covers all vehicle occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not available in all states and may carry a deductible
Comprehensive insurance
Comprehensive insurance coverage pays for damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against claims such as a tree branch falling on your vehicle, hitting a bird, falling objects, vandalism and theft. The maximum payout your insurance company will pay is the ACV or actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
