Looking for lower car insurance rates for your Audi S4? Wish you could get out of an underperforming, overpriced car insurance policy? Trust us, there are many consumers feeling the pinch from expensive car insurance.
Lots of insurance companies contend for your hard-earned dollar, so it’s not easy to compare every company and uncover the absolute lowest rate possible.
Compare quotes for insurance
There are multiple methods to compare insurance prices but there is one way that is easier and takes less work. You could spend your day discussing policy coverages with insurance companies in your area, or you could save time and use online quotes to maximize your effort.
Most of the larger companies belong to a marketplace that enables customers to submit their information once, and at least one company provides a quote based on the submitted data. This eliminates the need for repetitive form submissions for each company you want a rate for.
To use this form to compare rates click here to open in new window.
The one downside to doing it this way is you don’t know exactly which companies you will receive quotes from. If you wish to select from a list of companies to receive pricing from, we have assembled a list of the cheapest insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.
Whichever method you choose, be sure you’re using the same coverage information on every quote you get. If you use differing limits you will not be able to make an equal comparison. Slightly different insurance coverages or limits could skew the results. Just remember that obtaining a wide range of quotes increases the change that you will find a better price.

Car Insurance Discounts
Buying car insurance is not cheap, but there are discounts available to reduce the price significantly. Certain discounts will be triggered automatically when you complete an application, but a few need to be specifically requested before they will apply. If you don’t get every credit you qualify for, you are throwing money away.
- Discount for New Cars – Insuring a new car can save you some money since new model year vehicles are generally safer.
- Military Discounts – Having a deployed family member may lower your premium rates slightly.
- E-sign – A few companies will provide an incentive for completing your application on their website.
- Fewer Miles Equal More Savings – Low mileage vehicles may enable drivers to earn slightly better premium rates than normal.
- Onboard Data Collection – Drivers who agree to allow their car insurance company to monitor driving habits by using a telematics device in their vehicle such as Progressive’s Snapshot could see a rate decrease if they are good drivers.
- Anti-lock Brake Discount – Anti-lock brake equipped vehicles prevent accidents so you can save 10 percent or more.
- Air Bags and Passive Restraints – Vehicles with factory air bags and/or automatic seat belt systems can get savings of 25 to 30%.
- College Student – College-age children who attend college more than 100 miles from home and do not take a car to college may be able to be covered for less.
- Smart Student Discounts – Excelling in school could provide a savings of up to 20% or more. Many companies even apply the discount to college students up to age 25.
- Drive Safe and Save – Insureds without accidents can save as much as half off their rates on S4 insurance compared to rates paid by drivers with frequent claims.
You can save money using discounts, but many deductions do not apply to the overall cost of the policy. Most only cut specific coverage prices like collision or personal injury protection. So when the math indicates you could get a free car insurance policy, it doesn’t quite work that way.
A few companies that may offer many of the previously listed discounts may include but are not limited to:
Before you buy a policy, ask every insurance company which discounts you may be entitled to. A few discounts might not apply in your area. If you would like to view providers that can offer you the previously mentioned discounts, click this link.
Tailor your auto insurance coverage to you
When choosing the right insurance coverage for your vehicles, there really is not a “best” method to buy coverage. Everyone’s situation is a little different so your insurance needs to address that. These are some specific questions can aid in determining whether you will benefit from professional help.
- When should I remove comp and collision on my 2006 Audi S4?
- Do I need PIP coverage since I have good health insurance?
- How high should my uninsured/underinsured coverage be in my state?
- Do I need replacement cost coverage?
- What happens if I owe more than my 2006 Audi S4 is worth?
- Should I buy additional glass protection?
- Should I put collision coverage on all my vehicles?
- Can I still get insurance after a DUI?
- Is motorclub coverage worth it?
- What vehicles should carry emergency assistance coverage?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you then you might want to talk to an insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, fill out this quick form or go to this page to view a list of companies.
Coverages available on your car insurance policy
Knowing the specifics of car insurance can help you determine the right coverages and proper limits and deductibles. Car insurance terms can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy. These are the normal coverages found on the average car insurance policy.
Medical expense coverage – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP provide coverage for short-term medical expenses for things like prosthetic devices, funeral costs and X-ray expenses. They are often used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. They cover you and your occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is not an option in every state and may carry a deductible
Liability coverages – Liability coverage protects you from damage that occurs to other people or property by causing an accident. It protects you from claims by other people. Liability doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have policy limits of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a per accident bodily injury limit of $100,000, and a limit of $50,000 paid for damaged property. Some companies may use one limit called combined single limit (CSL) which provides one coverage limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability insurance covers claims such as bail bonds, emergency aid and legal defense fees. How much coverage you buy is a decision to put some thought into, but buy as large an amount as possible.
Uninsured or underinsured coverage – Your UM/UIM coverage gives you protection when other motorists either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for medical payments for you and your occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Because many people only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is very important. Frequently your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages are set the same as your liablity limits.
Collision coverages – Collision coverage covers damage to your S4 resulting from colliding with an object or car. You first must pay a deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision can pay for claims like damaging your car on a curb, rolling your car, scraping a guard rail, colliding with a tree and driving through your garage door. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are older. You can also choose a higher deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Comprehensive protection – Comprehensive insurance covers damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first must pay your deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive insurance covers things like theft, vandalism and a broken windshield. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.
