Scraping up a payment for overpriced Ford Econoline Wagon insurance can dry up your monthly budget and put the squeeze on your family’s finances. Doing a price comparison is a smart way to ensure you are getting the best deal.
Many insurers vie for your insurance dollar, and because of this it can be hard to compare auto insurance companies to discover the definitive cheapest price
If you have a current auto insurance policy or need a new policy, you can follow these tips to find better prices while maintaining coverages. Choosing the best insurance company for you is not rocket science. Drivers just need to learn how to shop online.
Compare free auto insurance quotes
Effectively comparing auto insurance prices can be exhausting if you aren’t aware of the fastest way to get free quotes. You could spend your day talking to insurance agencies in your area, or you could save time and use online quotes to get pricing more quickly.
Many popular insurance companies belong to an insurance system where prospective buyers only type in their quote data once, and at least one company returns a competitive quote based on the submitted data. This system prevents you from having to do quotation requests for every auto insurance company. To compare rates now click here (opens in new window).
The one downside to getting quotes like this is that you can’t choose which carriers you will receive quotes from. So if you prefer to choose specific insurance companies for rate comparison, we put together a list of low cost auto insurance companies in your area. Click to view list.
You can use whichever method you prefer to find lower rates, just compare identical deductibles and coverage limits for each comparison quote. If you use higher or lower deductibles it will be nearly impossible to get a fair rate comparison.

You are unique and your car insurance should be too
When buying coverage for your personal vehicles, there is no one size fits all plan. Everyone’s needs are different so your insurance needs to address that. For example, these questions may help highlight if your situation might need professional guidance.
- What is no-fault insurance?
- Is my teen driver covered when they drive my company car?
- Will I lose any money if I cancel my policy before it expires?
- Is my ex-spouse still covered by my policy?
- Can I afford to pay high deductible claims out of pocket?
- If my pet gets injured in an accident are they covered?
If you can’t answer these questions, you might consider talking to a licensed insurance agent. To find an agent in your area, simply complete this short form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and can provide invaluable advice.
Auto insurance 101
Understanding the coverages of your car insurance policy aids in choosing which coverages you need and the correct deductibles and limits. Car insurance terms can be impossible to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy. Shown next are typical coverages found on the average car insurance policy.
Collision coverage – Collision insurance pays for damage to your Econoline Wagon resulting from a collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You have to pay a deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision insurance covers things like driving through your garage door, hitting a mailbox, damaging your car on a curb and colliding with a tree. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. You can also raise the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Liability coverage – Liability coverage provides protection from damage or injury you incur to other people or property in an accident. It protects you against other people’s claims. It does not cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
It consists of three limits, bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. You commonly see liability limits of 50/100/50 which stand for a limit of $50,000 per injured person, $100,000 for the entire accident, and a total limit of $50,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Another option is a combined limit which combines the three limits into one amount without having the split limit caps.
Liability coverage protects against things like loss of income, repair bills for other people’s vehicles and pain and suffering. How much coverage you buy is your choice, but you should buy as large an amount as possible.
Comprehensive coverage – Comprehensive insurance coverage will pay to fix damage that is not covered by collision coverage. You first must pay your deductible then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage pays for things like damage from flooding, damage from getting keyed and rock chips in glass. The highest amount your car insurance company will pay is the market value of your vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value consider dropping full coverage.
Medical payments coverage and PIP – Med pay and PIP coverage provide coverage for expenses for things like chiropractic care, rehabilitation expenses, pain medications, ambulance fees and prosthetic devices. They are used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. They cover both the driver and occupants and will also cover any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is not available in all states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage – This provides protection when other motorists either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered losses include injuries to you and your family and damage to your 2009 Ford Econoline Wagon.
Because many people carry very low liability coverage limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked. Usually these limits are set the same as your liablity limits.
