Drivers save money with with these discounts
Some insurance providers don’t necessarily list every discount very well, so here is a list both the well known and also the more inconspicuous credits available to you.
- Save over 55 – Drivers that qualify as senior citizens could receive a small decrease in premiums on M-Class coverage.
- Anti-theft Discount – Anti-theft and alarm system equipped vehicles are stolen less frequently and therefore earn up to a 10% discount.
- Telematics Data Discounts – Drivers who agree to allow driving data collection to analyze their driving habits by using a telematic data system such as State Farm’s In-Drive might see lower rates if they have good driving habits.
- Discount for Multiple Policies – When you combine your homeowners and auto insurance with the same insurance company you could get a discount of over 10 percent off each policy depending on the company.

- Paperless Signup – Certain insurance companies will give you a small discount for completing your application on your computer.
As is typical with insurance, most discounts do not apply the the whole policy. The majority will only reduce individual premiums such as medical payments or collision. If you do the math and it seems like having all the discounts means you get insurance for free, companies don’t profit that way.

Shop car insurance online
Effectively comparing car insurance prices can be exhausting if you don’t understand the fastest way to get free quotes. You could waste time talking to insurance agencies in your area, or you could use online quoting to maximize your effort.
All the larger companies belong to an insurance system that allows shoppers to enter their policy data once, and at least one company provides a quote for coverage. This system prevents you from having to do quote forms for every car insurance company.

The approach you take is up to you, just compare apples-to-apples quote information on every price quote you get. If your comparisons have different data you can’t possibly get a fair rate comparison.
Your situation helps dictate your coverage
When choosing proper insurance coverage, there really is no cookie cutter policy. Each situation is unique.
Here are some questions about coverages that could help you determine whether or not you could use an agent’s help.
- Can my teen driver be rated on a liability-only vehicle?
- Do I need medical payments coverage since I have good health insurance?
- Does my personal policy cover me when driving out-of-state?
- How can I get high-risk coverage after a DUI?
- Am I covered when driving on a suspended license?
- What can I do if my company won’t pay a claim?
- Will filing a claim cost me more?
- What should my uninsured motorist coverage limits be in my state?
- Should I put collision coverage on all my vehicles?
- How many claims can I have before being cancelled?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you, you may need to chat with an agent. To find an agent in your area, complete this form. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and you can get the answers you need.
Auto insurance coverages
Understanding the coverages of your insurance policy can help you determine the right coverages for your vehicles. Insurance terms can be confusing and reading a policy is terribly boring.
Comprehensive auto coverage – Comprehensive insurance coverage covers damage that is not covered by collision coverage. You need to pay your deductible first then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive can pay for claims like rock chips in glass, falling objects, vandalism, theft and hitting a deer. The most your insurance company will pay is the market value of your vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
Medical payments and PIP coverage – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage kick in for immediate expenses such as nursing services, X-ray expenses, surgery, ambulance fees and rehabilitation expenses. They can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance plan or if you are not covered by health insurance. They cover you and your occupants and will also cover if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal injury protection coverage is only offered in select states and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay
Liability coverages – This coverage protects you from damage or injury you incur to a person or their property by causing an accident. It protects YOU from claims by other people. It does not cover your own vehicle damage or injuries.
Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show policy limits of 100/300/100 that means you have $100,000 bodily injury coverage, a total of $300,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and a total limit of $100,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Some companies may use a combined limit which provides one coverage limit with no separate limits for injury or property damage.
Liability insurance covers things like structural damage, legal defense fees, repair bills for other people’s vehicles and attorney fees. How much liability coverage do you need? That is a decision to put some thought into, but you should buy as high a limit as you can afford.
UM/UIM (Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist) coverage – This protects you and your vehicle when other motorists are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. This coverage pays for hospital bills for your injuries and also any damage incurred to your Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
Since a lot of drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage should not be overlooked. Usually the UM/UIM limits are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Collision coverage – Collision insurance will pay to fix damage to your M-Class resulting from colliding with a stationary object or other vehicle. You have to pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for things like crashing into a ditch, damaging your car on a curb, colliding with a tree and sustaining damage from a pot hole. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are older. Drivers also have the option to increase the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.

What is YOUR best insurance company?
There are still a few companies who do not offer online rate quotes and usually these regional insurance providers sell through independent insurance agencies. Affordable 2011 Mercedes-Benz M-Class insurance can be found from both online companies as well as from insurance agents, so you should compare both to have the best chance of lowering rates.
In this article, we presented a lot of information how to lower your 2011 Mercedes-Benz M-Class insurance car insurance rates. The key thing to remember is the more you quote car insurance, the more likely it is that you will get a better rate. Drivers may discover the best car insurance rates are with a company that doesn’t do a lot of advertising.
When searching for cheap car insurance quotes, it’s a bad idea to reduce coverage to reduce premium. There are too many instances where drivers have reduced liability coverage limits only to regret that it was a big error on their part. Your objective should be to purchase a proper amount of coverage at a price you can afford, but do not skimp to save money.
