Trying to find lower auto insurance rates for your Cadillac CTS-V? You have so many options that it is a lot of work to find the lowest price.
You need to check auto insurance prices at least once a year because insurance prices change regularly. If you had the lowest price on CTS-V insurance a few years ago you may be paying too much now. Forget all the misinformation about auto insurance because I’m going to let you in on the secrets to one of the best ways to save money, get proper deductibles and limits, all at the lowest rate.
Cheap insurance coverage
To get cheaper insurance coverage quotes, there a variety of ways to obtain and compare prices from many insurance coverage companies in your state. One of the best ways to find the cheapest Cadillac CTS-V insurance rates consists of shopping online. This is quite simple and can be completed in just a few minutes using one of these methods.
- One of the fastest ways to get the best comparison quotes would be an industry-wide quote request form click to view form in new window. This easy form prevents you from having to do separate quotes for each company. One form submission will get you rate comparisons from many national carriers. It’s the fastest way to compare.
- A more time consuming way to get comparison quotes consists of visiting each company website and get a separate price quote. For sake of this example, we’ll pretend you want rates from USAA, Progressive and Geico. In order to get each rate, you would have to go to every website and type in your information over and over, which is why the first method is more popular. For a list of links to companies insuring cars in your area, click here.
Which method you use is up to you, but double check that you are using nearly identical information on every quote you get. If you compare differing limits then you won’t be able to make an equal comparison. Having just a slight variation in limits can result in a big premium difference. And when quoting insurance coverage, remember that making a lot of price comparisons will increase your chances of finding a lower rate. Not every company allows you to get prices over the internet, so you need to compare prices on coverage from those companies, too.

When in doubt talk to an agent
When it comes to buying adequate coverage for your personal vehicles, there is no cookie cutter policy. Each situation is unique.
For example, these questions might point out if you could use an agent’s help.
- Will filing a claim cost me more?
- Can I rent a car in Mexico?
- How can I get my company to pay me more for my totalled car?
- Who is covered by my policy?
- Can my babysitter drive my car?
- When can my company non-renew my policy?
- Why do I only qualify for high-risk insurance?
- Do I have coverage when making deliveries for my home business?
If you can’t answer these questions, you may need to chat with an insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, take a second and complete this form.
Information about specific coverages
Understanding the coverages of insurance helps when choosing appropriate coverage and the correct deductibles and limits. The terms used in a policy can be impossible to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Collision coverage – This pays for damage to your CTS-V from colliding with a stationary object or other vehicle. You will need to pay your deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision can pay for things like sideswiping another vehicle, driving through your garage door and hitting a parking meter. This coverage can be expensive, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. It’s also possible to increase the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Coverage for medical payments – Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance kick in for expenses for things like hospital visits, nursing services, ambulance fees and prosthetic devices. They are often used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if you lack health insurance entirely. They cover both the driver and occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal Injury Protection is only offered in select states and may carry a deductible
Coverage for liability – Liability coverage will cover injuries or damage you cause to other people or property by causing an accident. This coverage protects you against claims from other people, and doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You commonly see limits of 100/300/100 that translate to $100,000 bodily injury coverage, $300,000 for the entire accident, and a total limit of $100,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Alternatively, you may have a combined limit which provides one coverage limit with no separate limits for injury or property damage.
Liability coverage protects against things such as medical expenses, attorney fees, court costs, repair bills for other people’s vehicles and repair costs for stationary objects. How much liability should you purchase? That is a decision to put some thought into, but you should buy as much as you can afford.
Uninsured and underinsured coverage – Your UM/UIM coverage provides protection when the “other guys” are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. This coverage pays for injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since a lot of drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. So UM/UIM coverage is important protection for you and your family. Usually the UM/UIM limits are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Comprehensive coverages – This coverage will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive insurance covers claims such as fire damage, damage from flooding and hitting a bird. The highest amount you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
