Looking for lower insurance coverage rates for your Volkswagen CC? Have you fallen victim to an underperforming, overpriced insurance coverage policy? Don’t sweat it because there are many people just like you. Consumers have multiple insurers to pick from, and even though it’s nice to be able to choose, more choices can make it harder to locate the cheapest rates.
Consumers should take time to compare rates on a regular basis because rates are constantly changing. Even if you got the best deal on CC insurance two years ago you can probably find a better price now. Forget all the misinformation about insurance coverage because we’re going to demonstrate the tricks you need to know to save money, get proper deductibles and limits, all at the lowest rate.
Finding the best rates is easy if you know what you’re doing. If you have a policy now or are looking for a new policy, you will benefit by learning to find better prices while maximizing coverage. Drivers only need to know the most efficient way to compare company rates over the internet.
Get cheaper insurance rates with discounts
Not too many consumers would say insurance is affordable, but there may be some discounts that you may not know about. Most are applied when you complete an application, but some may not be applied and must be asked for before you get the savings.
- Air Bags and Passive Restraints – Factory air bags and/or automatic seat belt systems may get savings of more than 20%.
- Full Payment Discount – By paying your policy upfront instead of monthly or quarterly installments you can actually save on your bill.
- Multiple Vehicles – Having multiple cars with the same insurance company may reduce the rate for each vehicle.
- Discount for Life Insurance – Some insurance carriers give a discount if you purchase life insurance.
- Defensive Driver – Successfully completing a driver safety course could earn you a small percentage discount and easily pay for the cost of the class.
- First Accident Forgiveness – This one is not really a discount per se, but certain companies allow you one accident before raising your premiums if you have no claims for a specific time period.
As a sidenote, some credits don’t apply the the whole policy. A few only apply to specific coverage prices like physical damage coverage or medical payments. Despite the fact that it seems like you can get free auto insurance, you’re out of luck.
A list of companies and some of the discounts are detailed below.
- 21st Century may offer discounts for good student, defensive driver, 55 and older, homeowners, student driver, and theft prevention.
- Progressive has savings for good student, homeowner, online quote discount, multi-vehicle, online signing, multi-policy, and continuous coverage.
- State Farm policyholders can earn discounts including multiple autos, anti-theft, Drive Safe & Save, passive restraint, good student, and multiple policy.
- Nationwide offers discounts including accident-free, business or organization, family plan, Farm Bureau membership, good student, multi-policy, and defensive driving.
- Esurance may include discounts for anti-lock brakes, DriveSense, defensive driver, online quote, good student, and safety device.
- The Hartford has discounts for vehicle fuel type, air bag, bundle, good student, defensive driver, and anti-theft.
It’s a good idea to ask each company or agent how you can save money. Discounts may not be offered in your state.

Cheapest insurance quotes
Comparing insurance rates can take time and effort if you aren’t aware of the most efficient way. You could waste time discussing policy coverages with local insurance agents in your area, or you can stay home and use online quotes to achieve your goal.
All the larger companies take part in a program where prospective buyers enter their coverage request one time, and every company returns a competitive quote determined by their information. This eliminates the need for form submissions for every insurance company.

One minor caviat to using this type of system is you don’t know exactly which carriers you want pricing from. If you prefer to choose specific providers to compare, we have a listing of insurance companies in your area. Click to view list.
Which method you use is up to you, but do your best to use nearly identical coverage data for every company. If you compare different coverage information you can’t possibly determine the best price for your Volkswagen CC.
Eight things that determine your insurance rates
Multiple criteria are taken into consideration when you get your auto insurance bill. Some are obvious such as your driving history, but other factors are less obvious such as whether you are married and annual miles driven.
- Marriage can save on insurance coverage – Walking down the aisle may earn you lower rates compared to being single. Marriage demonstrates that you tend to be less irresponsible and insurance companies like that married drivers tend to have fewer serious accidents.
- Higher premiums for stressful occupations – Occupational choices like military generals, architects and miners are shown to have higher premiums than the average policyholder due to stressful work requirements and long work hours. Conversely, occupations like farmers, students and homemakers get better rates on CC insurance.
- Frequent insurance claims increase prices – Companies award lower rates to insureds who do not file claims often. If you file a lot of claims you can pretty much guarantee either higher rates or even cancellation. Your car insurance is meant to be used in the event of the large, substantial claims.
- Never let your insurance coverage expire – Letting your insurance expire will be a fast way to bump up your insurance coverage costs. In addition to paying higher premiums, not being able to provide proof of insurance will get you a license revocation or jail time.
- Get a ticket, pay higher rates – Your driving citation history has a lot to do with how much you pay for insurance. Careful drivers tend to pay less for car insurance than their less careful counterparts. Just one driving citation can increase the cost of insurance to the point where it’s not affordable. Drivers who have gotten severe citations such as DUI or willful reckless driving may be required to maintain a SR-22 with their state in order to legally drive a vehicle.
- How old are your drivers? – Young drivers have a tendency to be inattentive and easily distracted when behind the wheel so insurance coverage rates are higher. Parents adding a inexperienced driver to your insurance coverage policy can increase premiums substantially. Older insureds tend to be more responsible, tend to file fewer claims and get fewer tickets.
- Urban areas may pay more – Living in a small town has definite advantages when insuring your vehicles. Lower population corresponds to lower accident rates in addition to fewer liability claims. Residents of big cities tend to have traffic congestion and a longer drive to work. More time commuting translates into higher accident risk.
- Liability insurance is peace of mind – The liability section of your policy will afford coverage if you are found liable for damages caused by your negligence. Liability provides legal defense coverage to attempt to prove you were not liable. Carrying liability coverage is mandatory and cheap compared to insuring for physical damage coverage, so drivers should carry high limits.
Tailor your insurance coverage coverage to you
When it comes to buying the best insurance coverage coverage for your vehicles, there isn’t really a one size fits all plan. Every insured’s situation is different so this has to be addressed. These are some specific questions may help you determine whether you may require specific advice.
- Will my rates increase for filing one claim?
- Can I get a multi-policy discount for packaging my home and auto coverage?
- Is borrowed equipment or tools covered if stolen or damaged?
- What can I do if my company won’t pay a claim?
- Will my vehicle be repaired with OEM or aftermarket parts?
- I don’t drive much so do I pay less?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you, you might consider talking to a licensed insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, complete this form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area. It is quick, free and can provide invaluable advice.

Advertising myths
Consumers get pounded daily by advertisements for car insurance savings from companies such as State Farm and Allstate. They all make an identical promise about saving some big amount if you switch to them.
How does every company charge lower premium rates? This is the way they can do it.
Companies require specific criteria for the driver that will be a good risk. One example of a profitable insured may need to be between the ages of 40 and 55, has never had a claim, and drives less than 5,000 miles a year. Any new insured that fits those parameters will probably get the lowest auto insurance rates and will save when switching.
Insureds who may not quite match the ideal profile will be quoted higher prices which translates to the customer not purchasing. If you listen to the ad wording, they say “customers that switch” not “everyone who quotes” save that much. This is how companies can lure you into getting a quote. Because of this risk profiling, it is so important to get as many free insurance coverage quotes as possible. You cannot predict which car insurance company will have the lowest rate quotes.
Auto insurance coverage information
Having a good grasp of your policy can be of help when determining the best coverages and the correct deductibles and limits. Car insurance terms can be impossible to understand and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording. Shown next are the normal coverages available from car insurance companies.
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You need to pay your deductible first then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive insurance covers things like theft, damage from getting keyed and hitting a deer. The highest amount a car insurance company will pay at claim time is the ACV or actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
Liability insurance – This coverage provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to other’s property or people. It protects YOU from legal claims by others, and doesn’t cover damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.
Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. You might see liability limits of 25/50/25 which means a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a total of $50,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000.
Liability coverage pays for claims such as loss of income, repair costs for stationary objects and attorney fees. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a decision to put some thought into, but buy as large an amount as possible.
UM/UIM Coverage – This coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants from other motorists when they do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered claims include hospital bills for your injuries as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is a good idea.
Medical costs insurance – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage reimburse you for expenses such as EMT expenses, dental work, nursing services, X-ray expenses and funeral costs. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. It covers both the driver and occupants in addition to if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal Injury Protection is not universally available but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Collision coverage – Collision coverage pays for damage to your CC resulting from a collision with an object or car. A deductible applies then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision coverage pays for claims such as backing into a parked car, colliding with another moving vehicle and rolling your car. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are older. You can also raise the deductible to save money on collision insurance.
A fool and his money are soon parted
You just read a lot of techniques to reduce 2012 Volkswagen CC insurance car insurance rates online. The key thing to remember is the more times you quote, the higher the chance of saving money. Drivers may discover the biggest savings come from some of the lesser-known companies. These companies may cover specific market segments cheaper compared to the large companies like Progressive or Geico.
As you quote insurance coverage, it’s not a good idea to skimp on coverage in order to save money. There have been many cases where an accident victim reduced liability limits or collision coverage to discover at claim time that the small savings ended up costing them much more. Your objective should be to purchase plenty of coverage at the best cost but still have enough coverage for asset protection.
