Are you at wits end from not being able to scrape enough together to keep your car insured? You have the same problem as most other drivers. Since drivers have many companies to choose from, it can be challenging to choose the lowest price auto insurance provider.
Compare quotes for auto insurance
Finding a better price on auto insurance can be surprisingly simple. The only thing you need to do is invest a little time to get quotes from online providers. This is very easy and can be done in just a few minutes using one of these methods.
- The fastest and easiest way to find the lowest comparison rates is a comparison rater form click to view form in new window. This method eliminates the need for a different quote for every prospective company. Filling out one form will return quotes from several companies.
- A different way to get quotes online is going to the website of each company and request a quote. For examples sake, let’s assume you want to see prices from Allstate, Progressive and Geico. To find out each rate you need to spend time going to each site individually to input your insurance information, which is why most consumers use the first method. For a list of links to companies insuring cars in your area, click here.
It doesn’t matter which method you choose, just make darn sure you compare nearly identical quote data for every company. If you are comparing different liability limits you will not be able to truly determine the lowest rate.

Car insurance discounts are available to cut your rates
The price of auto insurance can be rather high, but you can get discounts that you may not even be aware of. Some discounts will apply when you complete an application, but once in a while a discount must be asked about in order for you to get them. If they aren’t giving you every credit you qualify for, you’re paying more than you need to.
- Pay Upfront and Save – By making one initial payment rather than spreading payments over time you can avoid the installment charge.
- Resident Student – who are enrolled in higher education away from home and do not take a car to college could qualify for this discount.
- Low Miles Discount – Low mileage vehicles could qualify for lower premium rates due to less chance of an accident.
- ABS Braking Discount – Vehicles that have steering control and anti-lock brakes are safer to drive and will save you 10% or more.
- Buy New and Save – Insuring a vehicle that is new can get you a discount because newer models keep occupants safer.
- Passenger Safety Discount – Factory air bags or motorized seat belts could see savings of up to 25% or more.
- Senior Citizen Discount – Mature drivers are able to get a discount up to 10% on Yukon Hybrid coverage.
A quick disclaimer, most of the big mark downs will not be given to the entire policy premium. Most only cut individual premiums such as comprehensive or collision. Even though the math looks like it’s possible to get free car insurance, car insurance companies aren’t that generous. But any discount will lower the amount you pay for coverage.
A list of car insurance companies and the discounts they provide are included below.
- Farm Bureau offers discounts including youthful driver, driver training, multi-vehicle, 55 and retired, and safe driver.
- Liberty Mutual may have discounts that include preferred payment discount, safety features, new vehicle discount, multi-car, exclusive group savings, multi-policy, and good student.
- State Farm offers premium reductions for Steer Clear safe driver discount, driver’s education, safe vehicle, accident-free, and multiple policy.
- Auto-Owners Insurance policyholders can earn discounts including air bags, anti-lock brakes, company car, multiple vehicles, student away at school, and teen driver.
- Geico has savings for anti-lock brakes, multi-policy, seat belt use, emergency military deployment, military active duty, driver training, and good student.
- SAFECO offers discounts for teen safe driver, multi-car, safe driver, teen safety rewards, anti-lock brakes, drive less, and accident prevention training.
When getting a coverage quote, ask all companies you are considering how many discounts you can get. Depending on the company, some discounts may not be offered everywhere. To see a list of insurance companies who offer free car insurance quotes, click here.
Everyone needs different insurance coverage coverages
When it comes to buying coverage, there really is no cookie cutter policy. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs so your insurance needs to address that. For instance, these questions can aid in determining whether your personal situation might need professional guidance.
- Are rental cars covered under my policy?
- Is my custom paint covered by insurance?
- Does my medical payments coverage pay my health insurance deductible?
- Do I need higher collision deductibles?
- Will my insurance pay for OEM parts?
- Where can I find high-risk insurance?
- Do I need replacement cost coverage on my 2013 GMC Yukon Hybrid?
- Is pleasure use cheaper than using my 2013 GMC Yukon Hybrid to commute?
- Do I pay less if my vehicle is kept in my garage?
- How do I file an SR-22 for a DUI in my state?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions but one or more may apply to you, then you may want to think about talking to an insurance agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, simply complete this short form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It’s fast, free and can help protect your family.
Insurance policy specifics
Knowing the specifics of a insurance policy can help you determine the right coverages for your vehicles. The terms used in a policy can be ambiguous and coverage can change by endorsement. Listed below are the normal coverages found on most insurance policies.
Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance – Your UM/UIM coverage protects you and your vehicle when other motorists are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered claims include injuries to you and your family as well as damage to your 2013 GMC Yukon Hybrid.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is important protection for you and your family. Normally these limits are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Liability auto insurance – This provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to people or other property by causing an accident. It protects you against other people’s claims, and does not provide coverage for your injuries or vehicle damage.
Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. You might see liability limits of 50/100/50 that means you have $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and a limit of $50,000 paid for damaged property. Another option is one limit called combined single limit (CSL) which combines the three limits into one amount rather than limiting it on a per person basis.
Liability insurance covers claims like legal defense fees, medical services, loss of income, emergency aid and repair bills for other people’s vehicles. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a decision to put some thought into, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.
Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision) – Comprehensive insurance covers damage that is not covered by collision coverage. A deductible will apply and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage pays for claims such as hitting a deer, vandalism and damage from flooding. The maximum amount your insurance company will pay is the market value of your vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider removing comprehensive coverage.
Collision coverages – This pays to fix your vehicle from damage from colliding with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You have to pay a deductible then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision insurance covers claims such as damaging your car on a curb, sustaining damage from a pot hole, hitting a mailbox, scraping a guard rail and crashing into a ditch. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Another option is to raise the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Insurance for medical payments – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage pay for short-term medical expenses such as prosthetic devices, funeral costs, ambulance fees, rehabilitation expenses and pain medications. They are used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if you lack health insurance entirely. They cover all vehicle occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal Injury Protection is not universally available and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay

Have money to burn
Affordable 2013 GMC Yukon Hybrid insurance can be purchased online and from local insurance agents, and you need to comparison shop both to have the best selection. There are still a few companies who do not provide the ability to get quotes online and many times these smaller providers only sell coverage through local independent agencies.
As you quote auto insurance, do not reduce coverage to reduce premium. There have been many situations where consumers will sacrifice physical damage coverage only to regret at claim time that the few dollars in savings costed them thousands. Your objective should be to purchase a proper amount of coverage for the lowest cost, but do not sacrifice coverage to save money.
