Searching for the cheapest auto insurance rates for your Porsche 911? Tired of robbing Peter to pay Paul each month for auto insurance? You are in the same boat as many other people. There are many insurance companies to purchase coverage from, and although it’s a good thing to be able to choose, lots of choices makes it harder to compare rates.
Buying more affordable coverage is not that difficult. If you have insurance now or are shopping for new coverage, you can use these tips to find better prices while maximizing coverage. Drivers only need an understanding of the proper way to compare rates online.
How much is car insurance?
Shopping for lower car insurance rates can take hours if you aren’t aware of the best way to get rate quotes. You could waste time discussing policy coverages with agents in your area, or you could save time and use the internet to get prices fast.
Most car insurance companies participate in a marketplace that enables customers to submit their information once, and each participating company then returns a price quote based on the submitted data. This saves time by eliminating quotation requests to each individual car insurance company.

The single downside to comparing rates this way is you are unable to specify the providers you want to price. If you would rather choose from a list of companies for rate comparison, we have assembled a list of the cheapest car insurance companies in your area. Click to view list.
Which method you use is up to you, but try to use identical coverages on every price quote you get. If you are comparing higher or lower deductibles it will be nearly impossible to find the best deal for your Porsche 911.

These discounts can cut insurance coverage rates
Some providers don’t necessarily list every policy discount in an easy-to-find place, so the following is a list of both the well known and the harder-to-find discounts you could be receiving when you buy insurance coverage online.
- ABS and Traction Control Discounts – Vehicles that have anti-lock braking systems are safer to drive and qualify for as much as a 10% discount.
- Low Mileage – Driving fewer miles could qualify for discounted rates on garaged vehicles.
- Early Renewal Discounts – Select insurance coverage companies give a discount for buying a new policy prior to your current policy expiring. You may see this discount when you get insurance coverage quotes online.
- Military Deployment Discount – Having an actively deployed family member may lower your premium rates slightly.
- Responsible Driver Discounts – Drivers who don’t get into accidents can pay as much as 50% less for 911 insurance compared to accident prone drivers.
- Claim Free – Insureds who avoid accidents and claims pay much less in comparison to insureds who have frequent claims or accidents.
- Life Insurance – Not every insurance company offers life insurance, but if they do you may earn a small discount if you purchase life insurance from them.
Don’t be surprised that some credits don’t apply to the entire cost. Most cut specific coverage prices like comp or med pay. Just because it seems like all those discounts means the company will pay you, it’s just not the way it works.
Insurance companies that have these benefits include:
When getting free insurance coverage quotes, it’s a good idea to every prospective company the best way to save money. Some of the earlier mentioned discounts might not be offered on policies in your state. To choose insurance coverage companies that offer the discounts shown above, click here.
When do I need an agent’s advice?
When choosing adequate coverage, there isn’t really a cookie cutter policy. Every situation is different and your policy should reflect that. For instance, these questions may help highlight if your situation could use an agent’s help.
- What is PIP insurance?
- Does insurance cover tools stolen from my truck?
- Should I buy only the required minimum liability coverage?
- Is motorclub coverage worth it?
- Should I drop comprehensive coverage on older vehicles?
- Is my cargo covered for damage or theft?
If you can’t answer these questions then you might want to talk to a licensed agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form or you can also visit this page to select a carrier It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and can help protect your family.
Coverage specifics
Knowing the specifics of insurance can be of help when determining which coverages you need and proper limits and deductibles. The terms used in a policy can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. Shown next are typical coverages found on most insurance policies.
Collision coverages – Collision coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by collision with another car or object. You will need to pay your deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for things such as rolling your car, colliding with another moving vehicle, scraping a guard rail and hitting a mailbox. This coverage can be expensive, so consider removing coverage from older vehicles. Drivers also have the option to raise the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision) – This will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first must pay your deductible then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against claims such as a broken windshield, theft and hitting a bird. The maximum amount a insurance company will pay at claim time is the actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
Insurance for medical payments – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for bills like X-ray expenses, rehabilitation expenses and nursing services. They can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance program or if there is no health insurance coverage. Medical payments and PIP cover all vehicle occupants and also covers getting struck while a pedestrian. PIP is only offered in select states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance – This provides protection from other drivers when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since a lot of drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, their limits can quickly be used up. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is important protection for you and your family. Usually these coverages are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
Liability car insurance – This coverage provides protection from damages or injuries you inflict on other people or property that is your fault. It protects YOU from legal claims by others, and doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
It consists of three limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. As an example, you may have values of 25/50/25 which means a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a per accident bodily injury limit of $50,000, and $25,000 of coverage for damaged propery. Some companies may use one limit called combined single limit (CSL) which combines the three limits into one amount rather than limiting it on a per person basis.
Liability can pay for things such as attorney fees, emergency aid, pain and suffering and medical expenses. How much coverage you buy is a decision to put some thought into, but consider buying as large an amount as possible.
