Discounts for cheap insurance coverage quotes
The price of auto insurance can be rather high, but there’s a good chance there are discounts that could help you make your next renewal payment. A few discounts will be applied when you complete an application, but occassionally some discounts must be manually applied before being credited.
- Telematics Data – Drivers who elect to allow driving data collection to study their driving habits by installing a telematics device such as Progressive’s Snapshot and State Farm’s In-Drive may see discounts as long as the data is positive.
- Multi-Vehicle Discounts – Insuring several vehicles on the same insurance coverage policy qualifies for this discount.
- Driver’s Education for Students – Reduce the cost of insurance for teen drivers by having them participate in a local driver’s education class in school or through a local driver safety program.
- E-sign Discounts – A few companies will give you a small discount for buying a policy and signing up on their website.
- Drive Safe and Save – Accident-free drivers may save up to 50% more for 200 insurance than their less cautious counterparts.
- Discount for Passive Restraints – Vehicles with factory air bags or motorized seat belts may get savings of up to 25% or more.
- No Charge for an Accident – Not really a discount, but a few companies such as State Farm and Geico will let one accident slide without getting socked with a rate hike with the catch being you have to be claim-free before the accident.
Keep in mind that some of the credits will not apply to the overall cost of the policy. Most cut individual premiums such as liability, collision or medical payments. Even though it appears all those discounts means the company will pay you, companies wouldn’t make money that way. Any amount of discount will cut your policy premium.

Chrysler 200 insurance premiums can be reduced
Multiple criteria are used in the calculation when you get your auto insurance bill. Some are obvious like your driving record, but some are not quite as obvious like your vehicle usage and annual miles driven.
- Advanced alarms and GPS tracking – Purchasing a vehicle with a theft deterrent system can get you a discount on your auto insurance. Advanced theft deterrents such as vehicle immobilizer systems, OnStar, and tracking devices like LoJack all hinder car theft and help bring rates down.
- Multiple policies with one company – Most larger insurers provide a discount to insureds who carry more than one policy. It’s known as a multi-policy discount. Discounts can be five, ten or even twenty percent. Even if you qualify for this discount already, you still need to get quotes from other companies to ensure the best deal.
- Stressful job may mean higher prices – Careers such as judges, architects and financial analysts are shown to have higher rates than the rest of us in part from intense work situations and lots of time spent away from family. Conversely, careers like actors, students and homemakers generally pay rates lower than average for 200 insurance.
- Insurance rates for married couples – Your spouse can actually save you money when buying auto insurance. Having a significant other demonstrates that you tend to be less irresponsible and it’s statistically proven that married couples file fewer claims.
You may need specialized insurance coverage coverage
When it comes to buying proper insurance coverage for your personal vehicles, there really is not a “best” method to buy coverage. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs.
For example, these questions could help you determine whether your personal situation would benefit from an agent’s advice.
- Is my cargo covered for damage or theft?
- When would I need rental car insurance?
- When should my teen driver be added to my policy?
- Why do I only qualify for high-risk insurance?
- Is my vehicle covered by my employer’s policy when using it for work?
- Will my insurance pay for OEM parts?
- Do I benefit by insuring my home with the same company?
If you’re not sure about those questions but one or more may apply to you then you might want to talk to a licensed agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, fill out this quick form.
Car insurance coverage basics
Understanding the coverages of a car insurance policy helps when choosing appropriate coverage at the best deductibles and correct limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be impossible to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Collision – Collision insurance pays for damage to your 200 resulting from colliding with an object or car. You will need to pay your deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision coverage protects against things such as sustaining damage from a pot hole, rolling your car and sideswiping another vehicle. This coverage can be expensive, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are older. Another option is to bump up the deductible to save money on collision insurance.
Coverage for liability – This coverage protects you from damage that occurs to other’s property or people in an accident. It protects you against other people’s claims, and does not provide coverage for damage to your own property or vehicle.
Coverage consists of three different limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show limits of 25/50/25 which means a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a per accident bodily injury limit of $50,000, and $25,000 of coverage for damaged propery.
Liability insurance covers claims such as structural damage, repair costs for stationary objects, medical expenses and attorney fees. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a decision to put some thought into, but buy as large an amount as possible.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage – This coverage gives you protection when other motorists do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered claims include hospital bills for your injuries as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Because many people carry very low liability coverage limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages should not be overlooked.
Medical payments coverage and PIP – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP provide coverage for expenses for nursing services, dental work and prosthetic devices. The coverages can be used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants in addition to getting struck while a pedestrian. PIP is not an option in every state but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Comprehensive coverage – This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. A deductible will apply and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive can pay for things such as damage from flooding, a tree branch falling on your vehicle, fire damage and theft. The highest amount your car insurance company will pay is the market value of your vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value consider dropping full coverage.

A penny earned…
As you restructure your insurance plan, it’s a bad idea to reduce coverage to reduce premium. There are too many instances where drivers have reduced collision coverage only to regret at claim time that they should have had better coverage. Your strategy should be to buy the best coverage you can find at the best possible price, but don’t skip important coverages to save money.
Drivers who switch companies do it for a number of reasons such as policy non-renewal, an unsatisfactory settlement offer, questionable increases in premium or even delays in responding to claim requests. No matter why you want to switch, choosing a new insurance company is pretty simple and you could end up saving a buck or two.
Budget-conscious 2017 Chrysler 200 insurance is available from both online companies and also from your neighborhood agents, and you should compare rates from both so you have a total pricing picture. Some insurance companies may not have the ability to get a quote online and many times these small insurance companies prefer to sell through local independent agencies.
