Trying to find cheaper car insurance rates for your FIAT 500L? No car owner likes paying for car insurance, especially knowing they could get a better deal.
Due to the large number of online and local companies to choose from, it can be diffult for drivers to locate the lowest cost insurance company.
Compare quotes for auto insurance
There are multiple methods to compare auto insurance quotes, and some are easier and takes less work. You could spend your day talking to insurance companies in your area, or you could use the web to accomplish the same thing much quicker.
Most of the best insurance companies participate in an industry program where insurance shoppers enter their policy data once, and at least one company can provide price quotes based on that information. This saves time by eliminating quote forms for every auto insurance company.

The one disadvantage to getting quotes like this is you are unable to specify which companies you want pricing from. If you prefer to choose specific providers to request quotes from, we have assembled a list of auto insurance companies in your area. Click to view list.
The approach you take is up to you, just try to use the exact same coverages and limits for every company. If you enter mixed coverages then you won’t be able to truly determine the lowest rate. Just a small difference in limits may result in large price differences. Just remember that comparing more rates from different companies will increase your chances of finding more affordable insurance. Not every company does online rate quotes, so you need to compare prices from them, too.

Take advantage of with these discounts
Properly insuring your vehicles can get expensive, but there’s a good chance there are discounts that can dramatically reduce your bill. Larger premium reductions will be automatically applied at the time of quoting, but less common discounts must be specifically requested before being credited. If you do not check that you are getting every discount possible, it’s possible you qualify for a lower rate.
- Responsible Drivers – Safe drivers can get discounts for up to 45% lower rates for 500L coverage than their less cautious counterparts.
- Theft Deterent System – Cars and trucks equipped with anti-theft or alarm systems are less likely to be stolen and can earn a small discount on your policy.
- Buy New and Save – Putting insurance on a new car can cost up to 25% less because newer vehicles are generally safer.
- Organization Discounts – Affiliation with a civic or occupational organization could earn you a nice discount when shopping for auto insurance.
- Discount for Home Ownership – Owning your own home or condo may earn you a small savings because of the fact that having a home is proof of financial responsibility.
- Auto/Home Discount – If you combine your homeowners and auto policies and insure them both with the same insurance company you could earn a discount of at least 10% off all policies.
- Defensive Driving Course – Taking part in a course that instructs on driving safety could earn you a small percentage discount if your company offers it.
- Federal Employees – Having worked for a branch of the government may qualify for a discount when you quote insurance for 500L coverage depending on your company.
Discounts reduce rates, but you should keep in mind that most discount credits are not given the the whole policy. Most only cut the cost of specific coverages such as medical payments or collision. Just because you may think all those discounts means the company will pay you, you won’t be that lucky.
Insurance companies that may offer quotes with many of the previously listed discounts possibly include:
Check with all companies you are considering which discounts you may be entitled to. Some of the discounts discussed earlier may not apply to policyholders in your area. To see insurance companies that can offer you the previously mentioned discounts, click here.
Your situation helps dictate your coverage
When choosing coverage, there really is no one size fits all plan. Every insured’s situation is different so your insurance needs to address that. Here are some questions about coverages that may help you determine if your situation would benefit from professional advice.
- How much liability coverage do I need in my state?
- Why is insurance for a teen driver so high?
- Is pleasure use cheaper than using my 2018 FIAT 500L to commute?
- Am I covered if I crash into my own garage door?
- Do I need motorclub coverage?
- What is UM/UIM insurance?
- How do I buy GAP insurance?
- Do I have any recourse if my insurance company denies a claim?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions but you know they apply to you then you might want to talk to an insurance agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, simply complete this short form or go to this page to view a list of companies.
Insurance coverage specifics
Learning about specific coverages of your policy can be of help when determining appropriate coverage and the correct deductibles and limits. The terms used in a policy can be impossible to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. Below you’ll find the usual coverages found on most insurance policies.
Collision coverages – This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. You have to pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for claims like scraping a guard rail, colliding with a tree, crashing into a ditch and colliding with another moving vehicle. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from older vehicles. Another option is to increase the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Uninsured and underinsured coverage – This provides protection from other drivers when they are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered losses include injuries to you and your family and damage to your FIAT 500L.
Since many drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked. Frequently these limits are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
Comprehensive coverages – This coverage covers damage from a wide range of events other than collision. You need to pay your deductible first then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive can pay for things like fire damage, damage from getting keyed, a broken windshield, falling objects and damage from flooding. The most you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much consider dropping full coverage.
Coverage for liability – Liability insurance will cover damages or injuries you inflict on other’s property or people in an accident. It protects YOU against claims from other people. Liability doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
It consists of three limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. As an example, you may have limits of 50/100/50 which means a $50,000 limit per person for injuries, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged propery. Alternatively, you may have one number which is a combined single limit which provides one coverage limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability coverage pays for claims such as emergency aid, medical expenses, repair costs for stationary objects, legal defense fees and medical services. How much liability coverage do you need? That is your choice, but you should buy as large an amount as possible.
Coverage for medical payments – Med pay and PIP coverage kick in for short-term medical expenses for things like hospital visits, ambulance fees, dental work, rehabilitation expenses and prosthetic devices. The coverages can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance program or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to both the driver and occupants as well as if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP coverage is not available in all states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
