Are you drained from scraping the payment together to pay auto insurance each month? You have the same problem as the majority of other vehicle owners.
Many insurance companies compete to insure your vehicles, and because of this it can be hard to compare insurance companies to get the lowest price
Cheap insurance coverage rate quotes
There are a lot of ways to shop for insurance coverage, but there is one way that is easier and takes less work. You can waste a few hours (or days) driving to local insurance agents in your area, or you could use online quotes to get prices fast.
Most of the larger companies take part in a program that allows shoppers to submit their information once, and each company provides a quote based on that data. This system prevents you from having to do form submissions to each company. To participate in this free quote system, click to open in new window.
The only downside to doing it this way is you cannot specify the providers you will receive quotes from. So if you prefer to choose specific insurance companies for rate comparison, we have assembled a list of companies who write insurance coverage in your area. Click here to view list.
Compare rates however you want, just be sure you’re using nearly identical quote information on every price quote you get. If you compare different coverage information it will be impossible to make an equal comparison. Just slight variations in coverage limits could mean much higher rates. And when comparing insurance coverage rates, know that comparing a wide range of rates helps increase your odds of locating more affordable rates. Some smaller insurers to not give online quotes, so it’s recommended that you also compare price quotes from the smaller companies as well.

Truth in car insurance advertising
Big name companies like Geico, State Farm and Progressive seem to constantly run ads in print and on television. They all seem to make the promise about savings after switching to their company. How does every company charge you a lower premium? It’s all in the words they use.
Most companies quote the lowest rates for the type of customer that will most likely be profitable. A good example of this type of risk profile should be between 30 and 50, has never had a claim, and drives less than 5,000 miles a year. A driver who fits that profile will probably get the lowest premium rates and will also save a lot if they switch.
Insureds who fall short of those criteria will be quoted more expensive rates which usually ends up with the customer not purchasing. The ads state “drivers who switch” not “everyone who quotes” save that much money. That is how insurance companies can make claims like that.
This illustrates why you should compare many company’s prices. It is just not possible to predict with any certainty which company will provide you with the cheapest premium rates.
More affordable rates with these eight discounts
The price of auto insurance can be rather high, but you might already qualify for some discounts to help offset the cost. Certain credits will be shown when you get a quote, but lesser-known reductions have to be requested specifically before being credited.
- Passenger Safety Discount – Vehicles with factory air bags or automatic seat belts can get savings up to 30%.
- Homeowners Savings – Owning your own home or condo can earn you a little savings because maintaining a house is proof that your finances are in order.
- New Vehicle Savings – Putting coverage on a new car can cost up to 25% less because new model year vehicles have to meet stringent safety requirements.
- Online Discount – Some of the larger companies will give you a small discount for buying your policy on the web.
- Lower Rates for Military – Having a deployed family member could trigger a small discount.
- Low Mileage – Driving fewer miles could be rewarded with discounted rates on garaged vehicles.
- Driver Training Discounts – Passing a safe driver class is a good idea and can lower rates if you qualify.
- Save over 55 – If you qualify as a senior citizen, you may receive better auto insurance rates for XJR coverage.
Keep in mind that most credits do not apply to the entire cost. Some only apply to the price of certain insurance coverages like medical payments or collision. Even though it may seem like all those discounts means the company will pay you, companies wouldn’t make money that way.
Companies and a partial list of their discounts are included below.
- State Farm has discounts for Steer Clear safe driver discount, passive restraint, driver’s education, anti-theft, and student away at school.
- Geico offers premium reductions for defensive driver, multi-vehicle, five-year accident-free, emergency military deployment, anti-lock brakes, and air bags.
- Progressive offers discounts including online quote discount, continuous coverage, online signing, multi-policy, and multi-vehicle.
- 21st Century policyholders can earn discounts including defensive driver, early bird, teen driver, air bags, and automatic seat belts.
- American Family has savings for Steer into Savings, defensive driver, multi-vehicle, TimeAway discount, and mySafetyValet.
- The Hartford offers discounts for bundle, anti-theft, air bag, defensive driver, vehicle fuel type, and driver training.
- AAA may offer discounts for AAA membership discount, good student, education and occupation, anti-theft, good driver, and pay-in-full.
When comparing rates, check with every insurance company how you can save money. Some discounts listed above may not be offered in your state. To see insurers that provide some of the discounts listed above, click this link.
Auto insurance can be complex
When choosing the right insurance coverage, there isn’t really a “best” method to buy coverage. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs and your policy should reflect that. For instance, these questions can aid in determining whether your personal situation would benefit from professional advice.
- Why do I only qualify for high-risk insurance?
- I have a DUI can I still get coverage?
- Do I need to file an SR-22 for a DUI in my state?
- Am I covered when driving in Canada or Mexico?
- Am I covered if I drive in a foreign country?
- Am I covered by my employer’s commercial auto policy when driving my personal car for business?
- Is my teen driver covered when they drive my company car?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions, you may need to chat with a licensed insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, simply complete this short form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area.

Educate yourself about car insurance coverages
Having a good grasp of a car insurance policy aids in choosing appropriate coverage and proper limits and deductibles. Policy terminology can be difficult to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. Below you’ll find the normal coverages available from car insurance companies.
Coverage for uninsured or underinsured drivers – This coverage gives you protection when other motorists are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. This coverage pays for injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants and damage to your Jaguar XJR.
Because many people only carry the minimum required liability limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is a good idea. Most of the time your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
Liability coverages – This will cover damage or injury you incur to people or other property by causing an accident. This coverage protects you against claims from other people, and does not provide coverage for damage to your own property or vehicle.
Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You commonly see values of 50/100/50 which stand for $50,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $50,000. Occasionally you may see a combined single limit or CSL which provides one coverage limit rather than limiting it on a per person basis.
Liability coverage protects against claims like loss of income, medical services and repair costs for stationary objects. How much coverage you buy is a decision to put some thought into, but you should buy higher limits if possible.
Coverage for medical expenses – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for immediate expenses for things like rehabilitation expenses, doctor visits, pain medications, ambulance fees and dental work. They are often used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants as well as if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP is only offered in select states and may carry a deductible
Comprehensive car insurance – Comprehensive insurance coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage from a wide range of events other than collision. You first have to pay a deductible then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive coverage protects against things like falling objects, damage from flooding and damage from a tornado or hurricane. The highest amount you’ll receive from a claim is the actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
Collision coverages – Collision insurance pays for damage to your XJR resulting from colliding with an object or car. A deductible applies then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision insurance covers things like damaging your car on a curb, crashing into a ditch, driving through your garage door and sustaining damage from a pot hole. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from lower value vehicles. It’s also possible to raise the deductible to save money on collision insurance.
More quotes mean more savings
As you restructure your insurance plan, do not skimp on coverage in order to save money. There have been many cases where an insured dropped full coverage to discover at claim time they didn’t have enough coverage. Your focus should be to find the BEST coverage for the lowest price, but do not sacrifice coverage to save money.
Cheap 1995 Jaguar XJR insurance is available from both online companies as well as from independent agents, and you need to price shop both in order to have the best price selection to choose from. A few companies don’t offer online rate quotes and usually these small insurance companies only sell through independent insurance agencies.
We’ve covered many ways to compare 1995 Jaguar XJR insurance car insurance rates online. The most important thing to understand is the more providers you compare, the higher your chance of finding the cheapest insurance coverage. Drivers may discover the lowest priced insurance coverage comes from a company that doesn’t do a lot of advertising. Some small companies may only write in your state and offer lower premium rates compared to the large companies like Geico and State Farm.
