Looking for better car insurance rates for your Audi S4? Purchasing lower-cost car insurance may at first seem to be challenging for consumers that are relatively new to online price comparisons. With a ridiculous number of online companies available, how are consumers able to efficiently compare every company to locate the cheapest rates?
Lower rates by qualifying for discounts
Insurance can be prohibitively expensive, but there’s a good chance there are discounts to cut the cost considerably. Many of these discounts will be applied automatically at the time of quoting, but a few must be specially asked for before they will apply.
- Multi-car Discount – Buying a policy with multiple cars or trucks with the same company may reduce the rate for each vehicle.
- Save with a New Car – Insuring a vehicle that is new can save you some money because new model year vehicles keep occupants safer.
- Air Bag Discount – Cars that have air bags or motorized seat belts may get savings up to 30%.
- Good Students Pay Less – This discount may save you up to 25%. You can use this discount normally up to age 25.
- Military Deployment Discount – Being on active duty in the military could trigger a small discount.
- 55 and Retired – Seniors are able to get a discount up to 10% on S4 coverage.
A little disclaimer on discounts, most credits do not apply to your bottom line cost. The majority will only reduce specific coverage prices like liability, collision or medical payments. Even though it appears having all the discounts means you get insurance for free, companies don’t profit that way.
A list of insurance companies and the discounts they provide can be found below.
- Travelers policyholders can earn discounts including payment discounts, home ownership, save driver, new car, continuous insurance, and student away at school.
- 21st Century offers discounts including defensive driver, good student, early bird, homeowners, driver training, and student driver.
- State Farm has discounts for driver’s education, accident-free, Drive Safe & Save, passive restraint, safe vehicle, and multiple policy.
- Geico may offer discounts for membership and employees, good student, seat belt use, emergency military deployment, five-year accident-free, and defensive driver.
- SAFECO offers premium reductions for bundle discounts, homeowner, accident prevention training, anti-theft, drive less, and teen safety rewards.
- AAA has savings for AAA membership discount, good student, anti-theft, multi-policy, multi-car, education and occupation, and good driver.
Before buying, ask every prospective company what discounts are available to you. Some discounts listed above may not be offered in your area. To locate insurance companies with discount insurance rates, click this link.

How to compare car insurance quotes
The are a couple different ways of comparing price quotes from car insurance companies in your area. The easiest way to do a complete rate comparison consists of shopping online. This can be done using a couple different methods.
Hands down the most simple method to find low rates is an all-inclusive rate comparison (click to open form in new window). This type of form keeps you from doing repetitive form entry to each individual car insurance company. One quote request will return quotes direct from many companies. This is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time.
A harder way to get comparison quotes requires you to visit the website of each company to complete their respective quote request forms. For sake of this example, let’s assume you want rates from Auto-Owners, Esurance and American Family. In order to get each rate, you would have to take the time to go to each site and enter your information, which can be really labor intensive.

The least efficient way to get comparison rates is making phone calls or going to local insurance agencies. The fact that you can get quotes online eliminates the need for an insurance agent unless you have a complicated situation and need the trained guidance only provided by licensed agents. If you prefer, some companies allow you to find lower rates online but buy the policy through an agent.
However you get your quotes, try to use the same coverage limits and deductibles for each quote you get. If you are comparing different limits and deductibles on each one it will be nearly impossible to make a fair rate comparison. Slightly different coverages can result in a big premium difference. It’s important to know that comparing all the rates in your area will enable you to find more affordable insurance.
Insurance coverage is unique, just like you
When buying adequate coverage, there isn’t really a cookie cutter policy. Everyone’s situation is a little different.
For instance, these questions might point out if your situation may require specific advice.
- Why do I only qualify for high-risk insurance?
- Does my car insurance cover rental cars?
- Is my state a no-fault state?
- What companies insure drivers after a DUI or DWI?
- Are rental cars covered under my policy?
- Should I buy full coverage?
- Am I insured when driving a different vehicle?
- How much can I save by bundling my policies?
If you’re not sure about those questions but one or more may apply to you then you might want to talk to an agent. If you don’t have a local agent, simply complete this short form.
Auto insurance specifics
Learning about specific coverages of your policy helps when choosing the best coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Liability coverage
Liability insurance provides protection from damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property. It protects you against other people’s claims, and does not provide coverage for your own vehicle damage or injuries.
Liability coverage has three limits: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. You might see liability limits of 100/300/100 that translate to a $100,000 limit per person for injuries, $300,000 for the entire accident, and a total limit of $100,000 for damage to vehicles and property.
Liability can pay for things such as court costs, loss of income and repair costs for stationary objects. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as much as you can afford.
Comprehensive insurance
Comprehensive insurance coverage pays for damage from a wide range of events other than collision. You need to pay your deductible first and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive can pay for things such as hitting a deer, damage from getting keyed, damage from a tornado or hurricane, damage from flooding and a broken windshield. The maximum payout a auto insurance company will pay at claim time is the ACV or actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider removing comprehensive coverage.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
Med pay and PIP coverage reimburse you for bills such as chiropractic care, X-ray expenses, pain medications and prosthetic devices. The coverages can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance program or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is not universally available but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM)
Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants from other motorists when they are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. This coverage pays for hospital bills for your injuries and damage to your Audi S4.
Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is a good idea.
Collision protection
Collision insurance covers damage to your S4 resulting from a collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision coverage pays for claims like sideswiping another vehicle, rolling your car, sustaining damage from a pot hole, crashing into a building and hitting a parking meter. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. It’s also possible to raise the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.

Be a Smart Shopper
In this article, we covered a lot of tips how to lower your 2005 Audi S4 insurance car insurance rates. The key thing to remember is the more times you quote, the more likely it is that you will get a better rate. Consumers could even find that the lowest priced auto insurance comes from a small local company.
Some auto insurance companies don’t offer rates over the internet and usually these small insurance companies only sell coverage through independent agencies. Cheaper 2005 Audi S4 insurance can be purchased on the web in addition to local insurance agencies, and you need to comparison shop both to have the best chance of lowering rates.
People switch companies for any number of reasons including policy cancellation, not issuing a premium refund, delays in paying claims or even denial of a claim. No matter why you want to switch, finding a new company is not as hard as you think.
