Trying to find better auto insurance rates? Buyers have a choice when searching for the lowest priced Chevy Impala insurance. They can either waste time calling around getting price quotes or use the internet to compare rates.
There are both good and bad ways to shop for auto insurance so we’re going to tell you the proper way to get price quotes on a Chevy and find the best price possible either online or from local insurance agents.
Low cost car insurance quotes online
There are a variety of methods you can shop for car insurance but there is one way that is less labor-intensive and much quicker. You could spend the better part of a day talking to local insurance agents in your area, or you could save time and use online quotes to get pricing more quickly.
Most car insurance companies participate in an industry program where prospective buyers enter their policy data once, and each participating company returns a competitive quote determined by their information. This system prevents you from having to do quote forms for each company. To compare rates now click here (opens in new window).
The only drawback to comparing rates this way is you can’t choose which companies you want pricing from. If you wish to select from a list of companies to compare rates, we have a page of the cheapest car insurance companies in your area. Click here to view list.
It doesn’t matter which method you choose, just be certain you are entering apples-to-apples coverages for each quote you get. If you have unequal deductibles or liability limits you will not be able to make a fair comparison for your Chevy Impala.

There’s no such thing as the perfect car insurance policy
When it comes to buying the right insurance coverage for your vehicles, there really is not a “perfect” insurance plan. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s.
These are some specific questions can aid in determining if your insurance needs will benefit from professional help.
- Do I pay less for low miles?
- Are rock chip repairs covered?
- Is my custom paint covered by insurance?
- Do I have coverage when using my vehicle for my home business?
- Should I buy additional glass protection?
- Am I covered when driving on a suspended license?
- Is upholstery damage covered by car insurance?
- Should I buy only the required minimum liability coverage?
- Do I need an umbrella policy?
- Does coverage extend to Mexico or Canada?
If you’re not sure about those questions but a few of them apply, you may need to chat with an insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, simply complete this short form. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and you can get the answers you need.
Specific coverages for a Chevy Impala
Having a good grasp of a insurance policy can help you determine the right coverages and proper limits and deductibles. Policy terminology can be confusing and coverage can change by endorsement.
Collision coverage protection
This coverage will pay to fix damage to your Impala resulting from colliding with another car or object. A deductible applies and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision coverage protects against claims such as damaging your car on a curb, hitting a parking meter, hitting a mailbox, backing into a parked car and crashing into a ditch. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider removing coverage from lower value vehicles. You can also bump up the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Liability auto insurance
Liability coverage will cover damage or injury you incur to other’s property or people. This insurance protects YOU against claims from other people, and doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. Your policy might show policy limits of 50/100/50 that means you have $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a per accident bodily injury limit of $100,000, and a limit of $50,000 paid for damaged property. Occasionally you may see a combined single limit or CSL which provides one coverage limit rather than limiting it on a per person basis.
Liability coverage pays for things like pain and suffering, repair bills for other people’s vehicles, loss of income, bail bonds and attorney fees. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a personal decision, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.
UM/UIM Coverage
This provides protection from other drivers when they are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered losses include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since a lot of drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked. Most of the time these coverages are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision
Comprehensive insurance covers damage that is not covered by collision coverage. You need to pay your deductible first and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive insurance covers things like damage from a tornado or hurricane, damage from getting keyed, rock chips in glass, falling objects and hail damage. The maximum amount your insurance company will pay is the actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.
Medical costs insurance
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage reimburse you for immediate expenses such as doctor visits, nursing services, chiropractic care and X-ray expenses. They are utilized in addition to your health insurance policy or if you lack health insurance entirely. Medical payments and PIP cover you and your occupants in addition to any family member struck as a pedestrian. PIP coverage is only offered in select states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
