Feel like you have an underperforming, overpriced auto insurance policy? Don’t sweat it because there are lots of residents who feel the same. People have so many insurance companies to insure vehicles with, and even though it’s nice to have a selection, having more insurers makes it harder to find the lowest cost provider.
It’s smart to check auto insurance prices on a regular basis because prices are usually higher with each renewal. If you had the lowest price on Express coverage a few years ago you may be paying too much now. Forget anything you know (or think you know) about auto insurance because you’re about to learn the only way to find better coverage at a better price.
The best way to compare rate quotes takes advantage of the fact almost all companies actually pay money for the chance to quote your coverage. To get started, all you need to do is spend a couple of minutes providing details including the type of vehicles you drive, if the vehicle is leased, if it has an alarm system, and whether you drive to work or school. That rating data is then sent to multiple different insurance companies and you will get price comparisons within a short period of time.

Which policy gives me the best coverage?
When it comes to choosing the best insurance coverage coverage, there really is not a perfect coverage plan. Every situation is different and a cookie cutter policy won’t apply. Here are some questions about coverages that might help in determining whether you might need an agent’s assistance.
- Is my state a no-fault state?
- What discounts do I qualify for?
- Does my medical payments coverage pay my health insurance deductible?
- Does my insurance cover my expensive audio equipment?
- Is my teenager covered with friends in the car?
- Can I afford to buy a different vehicle if my 2001 Chevy Express is totaled?
- Should I buy additional glass protection?
- Are split liability limits better than a combined single limit?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, you might consider talking to a licensed agent. To find an agent in your area, simply complete this short form or you can also visit this page to select a carrier It’s fast, free and can provide invaluable advice.

Auto insurance policy coverages for a 2001 Chevy Express
Having a good grasp of your policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need and the correct deductibles and limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy. These are the usual coverages offered by auto insurance companies.
Liability auto insurance – This protects you from damages or injuries you inflict on people or other property in an accident. This insurance protects YOU against claims from other people, and does not provide coverage for damage to your own property or vehicle.
Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. Your policy might show policy limits of 25/50/25 that means you have a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, a per accident bodily injury limit of $50,000, and a total limit of $25,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Some companies may use a combined limit which provides one coverage limit rather than limiting it on a per person basis.
Liability can pay for claims like court costs, emergency aid, repair bills for other people’s vehicles and funeral expenses. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is your choice, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as high a limit as you can afford.
Collision coverages – This covers damage to your Express caused by collision with an object or car. A deductible applies and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision coverage protects against claims such as scraping a guard rail, rolling your car, driving through your garage door, sustaining damage from a pot hole and colliding with a tree. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from vehicles that are older. You can also raise the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) – This protects you and your vehicle’s occupants from other drivers when they do not carry enough liability coverage. This coverage pays for injuries to you and your family and also any damage incurred to your Chevy Express.
Since many drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is very important. Frequently the UM/UIM limits are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Comprehensive insurance – This coverage will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first have to pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive can pay for things like hitting a bird, theft, falling objects, vandalism and hail damage. The most your auto insurance company will pay is the market value of your vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for immediate expenses like rehabilitation expenses, prosthetic devices, doctor visits and X-ray expenses. The coverages can be used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if you lack health insurance entirely. They cover you and your occupants and will also cover if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP coverage is not an option in every state but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
