If you’re new to shopping for insurance quotes online, you can easily be confused due to the large number of online auto insurance companies and websites all claiming to save you money.
If you are paying for car insurance now, you will most likely be able to reduce your rates substantially using this information. Pricing more affordable auto insurance coverage is not that difficult. But car owners should learn how the larger insurance companies compete online and take advantage of how the system works.
How to get free car insurance quotes online
There are several ways to compare rate quotes from lots of car insurance companies. The easiest way by far to compare 2008 Isuzu i-Series insurance prices involves getting comparison quotes online. It’s really quite simple and can be done using a couple different methods.
- The most recommended method to find the lowest comparison rates is an all-inclusive rate comparison (click to open form in new window). This method eliminates the need for separate quotation requests to each individual car insurance company. Taking the time to complete one form will return quotes from multiple companies. This is by far the quickest method.
- A more difficult way to find lower rates is going to each company website and repeat the quote process. For instance, we’ll assume you want comparison quotes from Auto-Owners, Safeco and Liberty Mutual. You would need to go to every website and enter your policy data, which is why most consumers use the first method.

It doesn’t matter which method you choose, just be sure you’re using equivalent quote data on every quote. If you have mixed coverages it will be very difficult to decipher which rate is best. Quoting even small variations in coverage limits can make a big difference in price. It’s important to know that comparing more company’s prices provides better odds of finding the best rates.

More discounts mean lower-cost premiums
Some insurers don’t always advertise every policy discount in a way that’s easy to find, so we took the time to find both the well known as well as the least known discounts you could be receiving when you buy insurance online.
- Good Grades Discount – Getting good grades can earn a discount of 20% or more. Most companies allow this discount well after school through age 25.
- Discounts for Federal Employees – Active or former government employment can save as much as 8% for i-Series coverage depending on your company.
- Renewal Discounts – A few companies give discounts for switching companies prior to your current policy expiration. Ten percent is about the average savings.
- More Vehicles More Savings – Purchasing coverage when you have primary and secondary vehicles on one policy can get a discount for every vehicle.
- Senior Discount – Older drivers may qualify for better insurance coverage rates for i-Series coverage.
- Payment Discounts – By paying your entire bill at once rather than paying in monthly installments you can avoid monthly service charges.
- One Accident Forgiven – Not really a discount, but companies like Geico, Allstate and Liberty Mutual will forgive one accident without the usual rate increase so long as you are claim-free before the accident.
- Bundled Policy Discount – If you insure your home and vehicles with one insurance company you could get a discount of at least 10% off all policies.
- Telematics Discount – Insureds that choose to allow driving data submission to track driving habits remotely such as Drivewise from Allstate or Snapshot from Progressive may see discounts if they exhibit good driving behavior.
It’s important to understand that most discount credits are not given to the entire policy premium. The majority will only reduce specific coverage prices like collision or personal injury protection. If you do the math and it seems like all the discounts add up to a free policy, companies wouldn’t make money that way.
A list of insurance coverage companies and some of the premium reductions they offer can be read below.
- AAA offers premium reductions for good driver, pay-in-full, anti-theft, good student, and AAA membership discount.
- Progressive policyholders can earn discounts including multi-policy, multi-vehicle, homeowner, good student, online signing, online quote discount, and continuous coverage.
- State Farm may include discounts for student away at school, anti-theft, driver’s education, multiple policy, and passive restraint.
- Esurance may have discounts that include Pac-12 alumni, renters, anti-lock brakes, online quote, and multi-car.
- Nationwide has savings for accident-free, business or organization, multi-policy, family plan, easy pay, defensive driving, and anti-theft.
It’s a good idea to ask every company how you can save money. Some credits may not be offered in your area. If you would like to see a list of providers with the best insurance coverage discounts, click here.
It’s not one size fits all
When it comes to buying the right insurance coverage for your personal vehicles, there isn’t really a best way to insure your cars. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs.
For example, these questions could help you determine if your situation could use an agent’s help.
- Who is covered when they drive my 2008 Isuzu i-Series?
- What is high-risk coverage and where do I buy it?
- Do I have any recourse if my insurance company denies a claim?
- Do I need more liability coverage?
- Am I covered if my car is in a flood?
- What if I owe more than I can insure my car for?
- Is pleasure use cheaper than using my 2008 Isuzu i-Series to commute?
If you can’t answer these questions but you think they might apply to your situation, you might consider talking to an agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, simply complete this short form.
Insurance coverage considerations
Understanding the coverages of your insurance policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need at the best deductibles and correct limits. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Auto collision coverage
Collision coverage covers damage to your i-Series from colliding with another car or object. You first must pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for things such as colliding with a tree, hitting a mailbox, colliding with another moving vehicle and backing into a parked car. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are older. You can also choose a higher deductible to save money on collision insurance.
Medical costs insurance
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for immediate expenses like nursing services, rehabilitation expenses, pain medications and EMT expenses. They can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance plan or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants as well as getting struck while a pedestrian. PIP is not universally available but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
Liability car insurance
This coverage provides protection from damage or injury you incur to a person or their property in an accident. It protects you from claims by other people, and doesn’t cover your own vehicle damage or injuries.
It consists of three limits, bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have liability limits of 100/300/100 which means a $100,000 limit per person for injuries, a total of $300,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and property damage coverage for $100,000.
Liability coverage protects against claims such as pain and suffering, medical services and court costs. How much liability should you purchase? That is a personal decision, but consider buying as large an amount as possible.
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision
Comprehensive insurance pays for damage that is not covered by collision coverage. A deductible will apply then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive coverage pays for things like damage from flooding, fire damage, damage from a tornado or hurricane, damage from getting keyed and falling objects. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the actual cash value, so if the vehicle’s value is low consider removing comprehensive coverage.
UM/UIM Coverage
Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants when other motorists either have no liability insurance or not enough. Covered claims include hospital bills for your injuries as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked.

Shop. Compare. Save.
Cheaper 2008 Isuzu i-Series insurance can be purchased online as well as from independent agents, so you need to shop insurance with both in order to have the best chance of saving money. There are too many instances where drivers have reduced liability coverage limits only to find out that the savings was not a smart move. The goal is to purchase plenty of coverage at the best price, but do not sacrifice coverage to save money.
We just covered a lot of techniques to get a better price on 2008 Isuzu i-Series insurance. It’s most important to understand that the more rate quotes you have, the better likelihood of getting cheap insurance. You may even find the most savings is with a small mutual company.
