Shoppers have a choice when shopping for the lowest priced Lexus LFA insurance. They can either waste time contacting agents getting price quotes or use the internet to make rate comparisons.
There is a right way and a wrong way to compare auto insurance rates and we’ll show you the quickest way to compare rates for a new or used Lexus and find the best price possible.
It’s a good habit to compare prices as often as possible because auto insurance rates are constantly changing. Just because you found the lowest premium rates on LFA coverage six months ago you can probably find a lower rate today. Block out anything you think you know about auto insurance because you’re about to learn the proper way to find great coverage at a great price.
Affordable insurance rates with discounts
Some companies do not advertise every discount they offer very clearly, so the list below contains some of the more common and the more hidden discounts that you can inquire about if you buy auto insurance online.
- Professional Organizations – Being in specific professional or occupational memberships or organizations could trigger savings when shopping for insurance.
- Distant Student – Children living away from home attending college without a vehicle on campus may be able to be covered for less.
- Renewal Discounts – Select larger companies give a discount for buying a new policy before your current coverage expires. You could save around 10% when you buy auto insurance online.
- 55 and Retired – Mature drivers may be able to get a small discount on rates on LFA coverage.
- Active Military Service – Being on active deployment in the military could trigger a small discount.
- Good Student Discount – Maintaining excellent grades can earn a discount of 20% or more. Earning this discount can benefit you until age 25.
- Discounts for Seat Belt Usage – Requiring all passengers to fasten their seat belts can save up to 10 percent (depending on the company) off the PIP or medical payment premium.
As a sidenote, some credits don’t apply the the whole policy. A few only apply to specific coverage prices like collision or personal injury protection. If you do the math and it seems like you can get free auto insurance, you aren’t that lucky.

How to buy insurance online
There are several ways to compare insurance prices but one way is less labor-intensive and much quicker. You can waste hours talking about coverages with local insurance agents in your area, or you can stay home and use online quoting to get the quickest rates.
The majority of car insurance companies enroll in a system that enables customers to send in one quote, and at least one company can provide price quotes based on that data. This saves time by eliminating quote requests to each company.
To participate in this free quote system, click here to open in new window.
The single downside to using this type of form is buyers cannot specifically choose which companies to get quotes from. So if you prefer to pick from a list of companies to compare, we put together a list of the cheapest insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.
However you get your quotes, do your best to enter exactly the same information for each quote you get. If your comparisons have different coverage information it will be impossible to make a fair rate comparison.
Tailor your car insurance coverage to you
When buying the best car insurance coverage, there isn’t really a “perfect” insurance plan. Each situation is unique.
For instance, these questions can help discover if your situation might need an agent’s assistance.
- Do I need an umbrella policy?
- Do I need replacement cost coverage on my 2012 Lexus LFA?
- Is extra glass coverage worth it?
- Should I have a commercial auto policy?
- Who is covered when they drive my 2012 Lexus LFA?
- Do I have coverage when using my vehicle for my home business?
- Why do I only qualify for high-risk insurance?
- Should I buy full coverage?
- Am I covered if my car is in a flood?
- Will filing a claim cost me more?
If you can’t answer these questions but you know they apply to you then you might want to talk to a licensed insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, simply complete this short form. It is quick, free and you can get the answers you need.
Auto insurance policy coverages for a Lexus LFA
Understanding the coverages of your auto insurance policy helps when choosing appropriate coverage and proper limits and deductibles. The terms used in a policy can be confusing and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording.
Collision coverages – Collision insurance will pay to fix damage to your LFA caused by collision with an object or car. You first must pay a deductible then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision insurance covers claims such as crashing into a ditch, hitting a parking meter and hitting a mailbox. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. It’s also possible to bump up the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
UM/UIM (Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist) coverage – This coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants when the “other guys” either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for medical payments for you and your occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.
Since many drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is very important. Usually the UM/UIM limits do not exceed the liability coverage limits.
Liability car insurance – This protects you from damages or injuries you inflict on other people or property. This coverage protects you against claims from other people. It does not cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
Liability coverage has three limits: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show liability limits of 100/300/100 that translate to $100,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a limit of $300,000 in injury protection per accident, and a total limit of $100,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Occasionally you may see a combined limit that pays claims from the same limit without having the split limit caps.
Liability coverage protects against things like bail bonds, repair costs for stationary objects, pain and suffering and medical services. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is your choice, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.
Comprehensive auto coverage – This pays for damage that is not covered by collision coverage. You first must pay your deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against things like theft, damage from getting keyed and vandalism. The maximum payout a auto insurance company will pay at claim time is the ACV or actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.
Medical payments and PIP coverage – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP reimburse you for expenses like EMT expenses, prosthetic devices, chiropractic care, nursing services and dental work. The coverages can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance plan or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and will also cover if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal injury protection coverage is only offered in select states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Knowledge is power
Cheaper insurance coverage can be found from both online companies and with local insurance agents, and you should compare rates from both in order to have the best price selection to choose from. A few companies may not have online quoting and many times these regional insurance providers only sell through independent insurance agents.
Drivers who switch companies do it for many reasons like extreme rates for teen drivers, high rates after DUI convictions, an unsatisfactory settlement offer or not issuing a premium refund. It doesn’t matter what your reason, switching companies is not as hard as you think.
We covered a lot of information how to save on 2012 Lexus LFA insurance. The key thing to remember is the more companies you get rates for, the higher your chance of finding affordable auto insurance. Drivers may discover the biggest savings come from a lesser-known regional company.
