Want lower auto insurance rates for your Mazda Mazda6? Are you frustrated by the wide range of auto insurance sources in your area? There are so many choices that it can be a real challenge to lower your rates.
Discount insurance quotes
Companies don’t always advertise all their discounts in a way that’s easy to find, so we break down a few of the more well known in addition to some of the lesser obvious discounts that you may qualify for.
- Multiple Policy Discount – When you have multiple policies with one insurance company you may save at least 10% off all policies.
- Multi-car Discount – Buying coverage for multiple vehicles on one policy qualifies for this discount.
- Early Signing – Some insurance companies reward drivers for switching to them prior to your current policy expiring. The savings is around 10%.
- Defensive Driver Discount – Completing a defensive driver course could earn you a small percentage discount depending on where you live.
- Claim-Free Discount – Claim-free drivers are rewarded with significantly better rates on car insurance quote as compared to policyholders that have many claims.
It’s important to note that most discount credits are not given to the entire cost. Some only reduce the cost of specific coverages such as comprehensive or collision. So when the math indicates you would end up receiving a 100% discount, insurance companies aren’t that generous.

Tailor your auto insurance coverage to you
When it comes to buying the right insurance coverage for your personal vehicles, there isn’t really a perfect coverage plan. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs.
For example, these questions can aid in determining if your insurance needs may require specific advice.
- Are rock chip repairs covered?
- Should I buy only the required minimum liability coverage?
- Do I need an umbrella policy?
- Does medical payments coverage apply to all occupants?
- Why does it cost so much to insure a teen driver?
- What if I don’t agree with a claim settlement offer?
- What can I do if my company won’t pay a claim?
- What companies insure drivers after a DUI or DWI?
- When does my teenage driver need to be added to my policy?
- Does my 2003 Mazda Mazda6 qualify for pleasure use?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions but you know they apply to you, you may need to chat with a licensed agent. To find an agent in your area, take a second and complete this form.
Car insurance coverage considerations
Learning about specific coverages of your policy helps when choosing the best coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. Policy terminology can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Coverage for liability – Liability insurance will cover damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property by causing an accident. It protects you from legal claims by others, and doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have limits of 50/100/50 which stand for $50,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a total of $100,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged propery.
Liability coverage pays for claims such as repair bills for other people’s vehicles, funeral expenses, pain and suffering and emergency aid. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is your choice, but buy as much as you can afford.
UM/UIM Coverage – Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage gives you protection when the “other guys” either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for hospital bills for your injuries as well as damage to your Mazda Mazda6.
Because many people carry very low liability coverage limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage is very important.
Medical costs insurance – Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for short-term medical expenses for EMT expenses, chiropractic care, dental work and funeral costs. They are used to fill the gap from your health insurance program or if you do not have health coverage. Coverage applies to both the driver and occupants and also covers if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP is not available in all states and may carry a deductible
Collision coverage – This pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from colliding with an object or car. You first must pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for things like hitting a parking meter, rolling your car, sideswiping another vehicle, scraping a guard rail and damaging your car on a curb. This coverage can be expensive, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. It’s also possible to choose a higher deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – Comprehensive insurance coverage covers damage from a wide range of events other than collision. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive insurance covers claims like damage from getting keyed, a broken windshield, vandalism and hitting a deer. The highest amount you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
Keep this in mind
When shopping online for auto insurance, it’s not a good idea to skimp on coverage in order to save money. There have been many cases where someone dropped liability limits or collision coverage and discovered at claim time that the savings was not a smart move. Your focus should be to buy the best coverage you can find at the best cost, but do not skimp to save money.
Drivers leave their current company for any number of reasons including policy non-renewal, delays in paying claims, poor customer service and an unsatisfactory settlement offer. It doesn’t matter what your reason, switching companies is not as hard as you think.
We just presented many ideas to reduce 2003 Mazda Mazda6 insurance car insurance rates online. The most important thing to understand is the more times you quote, the more likely it is that you will get a better rate. Drivers may discover the lowest car insurance rates come from a lesser-known regional company.
