I really doubt anyone enjoys paying for insurance coverage, especially when they are aware that they could find better rates elsewhere. Multiple insurers compete to insure your vehicles, and because of this it can be hard to compare insurance companies and get the best coverage at the lowest rate
The best way we recommend to compare insurance rates from multiple companies is to realize almost all companies have advanced systems to compare their rates. To start a quote, the only thing you need to do is provide a little information including if you have an active license, your occupation, types of safety features, and distance driven. That information is instantly sent to multiple top-rated companies and they provide comparison quotes instantly.
Situations that may require an agent’s advice
When it comes to choosing coverage, there is no “perfect” insurance plan. Each situation is unique so this has to be addressed. For instance, these questions might help in determining if your situation will benefit from professional help.
- Should I waive the damage coverage when renting a car?
- Why do I need rental car insurance?
- Is my teen driver covered when they drive my company car?
- Can I pay claims out-of-pocket if I buy high deductibles?
- Will filing a claim cost me more?
- Who is covered by my policy?
- Do I need medical payments coverage since I have good health insurance?
- Will I be non-renewed for getting a DUI or other conviction?
If you’re not sure about those questions but one or more may apply to you then you might want to talk to an insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, take a second and complete this form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and you can get the answers you need.

Coverages available on your policy
Having a good grasp of your insurance policy can be of help when determining the best coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. Insurance terms can be confusing and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording. Below you’ll find the normal coverages available from insurance companies.
Auto collision coverage
This coverage pays for damage to your Sprinter resulting from a collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You will need to pay your deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision coverage protects against claims like colliding with another moving vehicle, damaging your car on a curb and hitting a parking meter. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are older. Drivers also have the option to raise the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Liability coverages
Liability insurance protects you from damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property in an accident. This coverage protects you from legal claims by others. Liability doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.
Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have limits of 50/100/50 that translate to $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a per accident bodily injury limit of $100,000, and a total limit of $50,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Alternatively, you may have a combined single limit or CSL which provides one coverage limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability insurance covers things like structural damage, repair costs for stationary objects, repair bills for other people’s vehicles and medical services. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a decision to put some thought into, but buy as large an amount as possible.
Coverage for uninsured or underinsured drivers
This provides protection when other motorists either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for hospital bills for your injuries as well as damage to your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is a good idea. Frequently these limits are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
Coverage for medical expenses
Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for expenses such as doctor visits, nursing services and EMT expenses. The coverages can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance plan or if you lack health insurance entirely. Medical payments and PIP cover you and your occupants and also covers being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not universally available but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
Comprehensive insurance
This coverage will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first must pay your deductible then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive can pay for things like damage from flooding, fire damage, a broken windshield, rock chips in glass and a tree branch falling on your vehicle. The maximum payout you’ll receive from a claim is the ACV or actual cash value, so if the vehicle’s value is low it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
