Looking for lower car insurance rates for your Subaru Tribeca? Wish you could get out of an underperforming, overpriced car insurance policy? It’s quite common and there are many consumers feeling the pinch from expensive car insurance. Lots of insurers contend for your insurance dollar, and it can be difficult to compare rates and get the definite best rates possible.
Lower rate quotes by taking advantage of discounts
Companies don’t necessarily list every policy discount very well, so the list below details both the well known and the more hidden credits available to you. If they aren’t giving you every credit possible, you could be getting lower rates.
- Senior Citizen Discount – Mature drivers may be able to get a small decrease in premiums for Tribeca coverage.
- Buy New and Save – Adding a new car to your policy is cheaper because newer models keep occupants safer.
- Multiple Vehicles – Purchasing coverage when you have multiple cars or trucks on the same car insurance policy could earn a price break for each car.
- Early Payment Discounts – By paying your entire bill at once rather than spreading payments over time you may have a lower total premium amount.
- Onboard Data Collection – Drivers who agree to allow companies to spy on driving habits by using a telematics device in their vehicle such as Snapshot from Progressive or Drivewise from Allstate might get better premium rates if they exhibit good driving behavior.
- Low Miles Discount – Driving fewer miles could qualify for slightly better prices than normal.
Keep in mind that most discounts do not apply the the whole policy. Most cut the price of certain insurance coverages like medical payments or collision. So when it seems like all the discounts add up to a free policy, you aren’t that lucky.

How much insurance do I need?
When choosing coverage, there is no “best” method to buy coverage. Every situation is different and a cookie cutter policy won’t apply. Here are some questions about coverages that might help in determining whether you might need an agent’s assistance.
- When would I need rental car insurance?
- Am I covered when delivering products for my home-based business?
- Are my friends covered when driving my 2010 Subaru Tribeca?
- How can I get high-risk coverage after a DUI?
- Does my policy pay for OEM or aftermarket parts?
- Am I missing any policy discounts?
- Is business property covered if stolen from my car?
- Does my medical payments coverage pay my health insurance deductible?
- Does my liability insurance cover pulling a trailer or camper?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions but you know they apply to you, you may need to chat with an insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, fill out this quick form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It is quick, free and you can get the answers you need.
Car insurance coverage information
Learning about specific coverages of insurance can help you determine the best coverages and proper limits and deductibles. Policy terminology can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. Shown next are the usual coverages found on most insurance policies.
Liability auto insurance – Liability coverage can cover damage that occurs to other people or property in an accident. This coverage protects you from legal claims by others, and does not provide coverage for your own vehicle damage or injuries.
Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. As an example, you may have policy limits of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $50,000. Another option is one limit called combined single limit (CSL) that pays claims from the same limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability coverage pays for claims such as legal defense fees, repair bills for other people’s vehicles, structural damage, medical expenses and repair costs for stationary objects. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is up to you, but consider buying as large an amount as possible.
Comprehensive insurance – This coverage covers damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You first have to pay a deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive can pay for things like hitting a bird, rock chips in glass and damage from getting keyed. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value consider removing comprehensive coverage.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) – Your UM/UIM coverage gives you protection from other drivers when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. Covered losses include hospital bills for your injuries as well as damage to your Subaru Tribeca.
Since a lot of drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is very important. Most of the time these coverages do not exceed the liability coverage limits.
Collision coverage – This covers damage to your Tribeca resulting from a collision with an object or car. You have to pay a deductible then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision coverage protects against things like hitting a mailbox, sideswiping another vehicle and colliding with a tree. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from lower value vehicles. It’s also possible to choose a higher deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP provide coverage for immediate expenses such as prosthetic devices, doctor visits, EMT expenses, funeral costs and chiropractic care. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to both the driver and occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP is only offered in select states and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay
Pennies from heaven
When you buy auto insurance online, you should never skimp on coverage in order to save money. In many instances, someone sacrificed liability coverage limits to discover at claim time they didn’t have enough coverage. Your strategy should be to buy a smart amount of coverage for the lowest cost, not the least amount of coverage.
Affordable 2010 Subaru Tribeca insurance is available from both online companies and also from your neighborhood agents, and you need to comparison shop both to have the best rate selection. Some insurance companies may not have price quotes online and most of the time these smaller providers provide coverage only through independent agents.
