Have you finally had enough of scraping the payment together to pay your insurance bill each month? You are in the same boat as many other consumers.
Drivers have many car insurance companies to choose from, and even though it’s nice to have multiple companies, so many choices can make it hard to get the best deal.
You should make it a habit to check insurance prices on a regular basis because insurance prices change frequently. Just because you had the lowest rates on Celica insurance on your last policy a different company probably has better rate quotes today. Block out anything you think you know about insurance because we’re going to demonstrate one of the quickest ways to reduce your cost while improving coverage.
Compare insurance quotes online
Shopping for lower insurance rates can be a daunting task if you aren’t aware of the easiest way. You can spend your afternoon talking to agents in your area, or you could save time and use the internet to accomplish the same thing much quicker.
Most car insurance companies take part in a program that allows shoppers to enter their policy data once, and each participating company then gives them pricing determined by their information. This eliminates the need for quote requests to each company.
To use this form to compare rates click to open in new window.
One minor caviat to doing it this way is that you can’t choose the companies to get quotes from. So if you prefer to choose specific providers to request quotes from, we have a page of companies who write insurance in your area. Click here to view list.
Compare rates however you want, just ensure you are comparing nearly identical quote information for every company. If you have different coverage information you can’t possibly determine which company has the best rates. Even a minor difference in coverages may cause a big price difference. And when price shopping your coverage, comparing more quotes increases your odds of finding more affordable rates.

Take policy discounts and save
Car insurance can be pricey, but there are discounts available that can dramatically reduce your bill. A few discounts will automatically apply at the time of purchase, but a few need to be inquired about in order for you to get them.
- Responsible Driver Discount – Drivers without accidents could pay up to 40% less on Celica insurance than their less cautious counterparts.
- Early Renewal Discounts – A few insurance companies offer discounts for buying a new policy early. It could save around 10% when you buy car insurance online.
- ABS Brakes – Cars, trucks, and SUVs that have anti-lock braking systems prevent accidents so companies give up to a 10% discount.
- Pay Now and Pay Less – By making one initial payment instead of paying each month you could save 5% or more.
- Save over 55 – Drivers that qualify as senior citizens may be able to get lower premium rates on Celica insurance.
- Air Bags and Passive Restraints – Vehicles with factory air bags can get savings of more than 20%.
- Defensive Driver – Taking time to complete a defensive driver course is a good idea and can lower rates and make you a better driver.
- Fewer Miles Equal More Savings – Low mileage vehicles could be rewarded with substantially lower car insurancerates.
- Driver Education Discount – Teen drivers should complete a driver education course in school or through a local driver safety program.
- Membership in Organizations – Joining certain professional organizations is a simple method to lower premiums on your next car insurance statement.
Don’t be shocked that some of the credits will not apply to the entire policy premium. Most only reduce specific coverage prices like medical payments or collision. So when the math indicates all the discounts add up to a free policy, you’re out of luck.
Large car insurance companies and a selection of discounts are detailed below.
- State Farm offers premium reductions for student away at school, multiple policy, passive restraint, defensive driving training, and driver’s education.
- Esurance discounts include DriveSense, homeowner, online quote, good student, good driver, and Pac-12 alumni.
- Progressive may include discounts for online quote discount, multi-policy, homeowner, multi-vehicle, good student, and online signing.
- Liberty Mutual may offer discounts for hybrid vehicle, new vehicle discount, multi-policy, new move discount, safety features, and teen driver discount.
- Auto-Owners Insurance may have discounts that include teen driver, paid in full, safe vehicle, student away at school, and multiple vehicles.
- Geico policyholders can earn discounts including air bags, multi-policy, emergency military deployment, anti-theft, and membership and employees.
It’s a good idea to ask each company to give you their best rates. Depending on the company, some discounts may not apply to policies in your area. To choose insurers that offer discounts, click here.
Which policy gives me the best coverage?
When it comes to buying coverage for your vehicles, there is no one size fits all plan. Everyone’s needs are different and your policy should reflect that. These are some specific questions may help highlight whether or not you will benefit from professional help.
- Where can I find DUI or SR-22 insurance?
- Is borrowed equipment or tools covered if stolen or damaged?
- Why am I required to buy liability insurance?
- Why does it cost so much to insure a teen driver?
- Am I covered when pulling a rental trailer?
- Can I afford to buy a different vehicle if my 1995 Toyota Celica is totaled?
- Are all vehicle passengers covered by medical payments coverage?
- Am I better off with higher deductibles on my 1995 Toyota Celica?
- Is motorclub coverage worth it?
- Do I have any recourse if my insurance company denies a claim?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions but you think they might apply to your situation, you might consider talking to a licensed agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form or you can also visit this page to select a carrier
Coverages available on your insurance policy
Knowing the specifics of your policy helps when choosing the right coverages and the correct deductibles and limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be impossible to understand and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording. Shown next are typical coverage types found on most insurance policies.
Coverage for liability
Liability coverage will cover damage that occurs to other’s property or people. This coverage protects you from claims by other people. It does not cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You might see limits of 25/50/25 that translate to a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a per accident bodily injury limit of $50,000, and a limit of $25,000 paid for damaged property. Some companies may use a combined single limit or CSL that pays claims from the same limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability insurance covers claims like loss of income, legal defense fees and repair costs for stationary objects. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is your choice, but consider buying as large an amount as possible.
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision
This pays to fix your vehicle from damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. A deductible will apply and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against claims such as hail damage, damage from a tornado or hurricane, damage from getting keyed, hitting a deer and falling objects. The highest amount your insurance company will pay is the cash value of the vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value consider dropping full coverage.
Collision insurance
Collision coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from a collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You will need to pay your deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for things such as damaging your car on a curb, hitting a parking meter, rolling your car and crashing into a ditch. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider removing coverage from lower value vehicles. Another option is to increase the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
UM/UIM Coverage
This coverage protects you and your vehicle when the “other guys” either have no liability insurance or not enough. Covered claims include medical payments for you and your occupants and also any damage incurred to your Toyota Celica.
Since a lot of drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, their limits can quickly be used up. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is a good idea. Most of the time your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Medical costs insurance
Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP pay for short-term medical expenses like chiropractic care, rehabilitation expenses, X-ray expenses and prosthetic devices. They are often used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to both the driver and occupants and will also cover being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP is only offered in select states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
