Compare quotes for insurance
There are a lot of ways you can shop for insurance but one way is easier and takes less work. You could spend your day discussing policy coverages with agents in your area, or you can stay home and use online quoting to get rate comparisons in just a few minutes.
Most of the larger companies participate in an industry program that allows shoppers to submit their information once, and each company then gives them pricing determined by their information. This system prevents you from having to do quote requests to every company.
To compare pricing click to open in new window.
The only drawback to pricing coverage this way is you don’t know exactly which providers to receive prices from. So if you want to choose from a list of companies to compare rates, we have assembled a list of companies who write insurance in your area. Click here to view list.
It’s up to you how you get prices quotes, just be certain you are entering exactly the same coverage data for every company. If you are comparing different limits and deductibles on each one then you won’t be able to decipher which rate is best.

Save $404 a year? Really?
Drivers can’t escape the ads that claim the best car insurance rates by companies like State Farm and Allstate. All the companies state the claim about how much you will save just by moving your policy.
How is it possible that every company can make almost identical claims? This is the trick they use.
Different companies have a certain “appetite” for the type of driver that will add to their bottom line. One example of a profitable customer may need to be over the age of 40, has a low-risk occupation, and drives a car with an anti-theft system. Anybody who matches those parameters will probably get the lowest rates and will also save when switching.
Consumers who cannot meet the ideal profile may receive higher premium rates and this can result in the customer buying from someone else. The ads state “drivers that switch” not “all people who quote” save that much. That is how companies can state the savings.
This really drives home the point why you absolutely need to quote coverage with many companies. Because without a comparison, you cannot know which auto insurance company will give you lower prices than your current company.
Informed drivers know how to find auto insurance cheaper
Many factors are used when you quote your car insurance policy. A few of the factors are predictable like an MVR report, but other criteria are less apparent like your vehicle usage or your vehicle rating.
Shown below are a partial list of the pieces auto insurance companies consider when setting your rates.
- Raise deductibles and save – Comp and collision deductibles are how much you are required to spend if a claim is determined to be covered. Physical damage coverage, also known as collision and other-than-collision, covers damage that occurs to your car. Some examples of covered claims could be a windshield broken by a bird, hail damage, and damage caused by road hazards. The more expense you are required to pay out-of-pocket, the lower your rates will be on E-PACE coverage.
- Always have auto insurance – Driving with no insurance is a big no-no and companies may charge more for letting your insurance lapse. And not only will your rates increase, the inability to provide proof of insurance may earn you fines and jail time.
- Mature drivers pay less – Beginning drivers are known to be more careless behind the wheel and because of this, their auto insurance rates are much higher. Having to add a first-time driver to your policy can increase premiums substantially. Older insureds are proven to be safer behind the wheel, file fewer claims and get fewer tickets.
- Prices can change based on your address – Residing in small towns and rural areas may provide you with better prices when shopping for auto insurance. Drivers in populated areas have traffic congestion and longer commutes to work. Fewer drivers and short commutes translates into fewer accidents and also fewer theft and vandalism claims.
- No insurance claims equals better rates – If you file a lot of claims you shouldn’t be surprised to get increased rates or even have your policy non-renewed. Insurance companies give discounts to policyholders who are claim-free. Your insurance policy is designed for the large, substantial claims.
- Insurance premiums and driver gender – Statistics have proven that men are more aggressive behind the wheel. Now that doesn’t mean men are WORSE drivers than women. Women and men tend to get into accidents at about the same rate, but males have costlier accidents. They also get higher numbers of serious violations such as reckless driving.
Insurance coverage policy discounts you can’t miss
Insurance coverage is expensive, but you may be missing some discounts that you may not even know about. Most are applied when you complete an application, but some may not be applied and must be specially asked for before they will apply.
- Senior Discount – Drivers over the age of 55 may be able to get a slight reduction on a car insurance quote on E-PACE coverage.
- Passive Restraint Discount – Factory air bags and/or automatic seat belt systems may earn rate discounts of up to 25% or more.
- Safety Restraint Discount – Forcing all vehicle occupants to use a seat belt can save a little off the medical payments premium.
- Anti-theft Discount – Cars, trucks, and SUVs equipped with tracking devices and advanced anti-theft systems are less likely to be stolen and will qualify for a discount on a car insurance quote.
- Anti-lock Brake Discount – Cars, trucks, and SUVs with ABS braking systems or traction control prevent accidents and the ABS can save up to 10%.
- Good Students Pay Less – Maintaining excellent grades can earn a discount of 20% or more. You can use this discount normally up until you turn 25.
Don’t be surprised that some of the credits will not apply to your bottom line cost. Most cut specific coverage prices like physical damage coverage or medical payments. Even though the math looks like you could get a free insurance coverage policy, insurance companies wouldn’t stay in business.
A list of insurance coverage companies and a selection of discounts are shown below.
- State Farm may include discounts for passive restraint, Drive Safe & Save, accident-free, good driver, student away at school, and safe vehicle.
- Liberty Mutual offers discounts for safety features, newly retired, multi-car, exclusive group savings, multi-policy, and new graduate.
- American Family policyholders can earn discounts including Steer into Savings, mySafetyValet, accident-free, good student, TimeAway discount, bundled insurance, and early bird.
- Progressive includes discounts for multi-vehicle, good student, multi-policy, online quote discount, and homeowner.
- Farmers Insurance has discounts for pay in full, youthful driver, business and professional, bundle discounts, and multi-car.
- Auto-Owners Insurance offers discounts including group or association, mature driver, safe driver, multi-policy, student away at school, air bags, and paid in full.
- SAFECO has savings for bundle discounts, multi-car, anti-theft, anti-lock brakes, and homeowner.
Before you buy a policy, ask each company or agent the best way to save money. Some of the earlier mentioned discounts may not apply to policies in your area. To see a list of insurers offering insurance coverage discounts, click this link.

Insurance agents can help
When it comes to choosing adequate coverage for your personal vehicles, there really is no perfect coverage plan. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s.
For example, these questions may help you determine if your situation may require specific advice.
- What is the rate difference between pleasure use and commuting?
- Is extra glass coverage worth it?
- Is my nanny covered when driving my vehicle?
- Why does it cost so much to insure a teen driver?
- Am I covered when using my vehicle for business?
- What is PIP insurance?
- What is high-risk coverage and where do I buy it?
- Is my state a no-fault state?
If it’s difficult to answer those questions then you might want to talk to a licensed insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form. It’s fast, free and may give you better protection.
Information about specific coverages
Knowing the specifics of your insurance policy can be of help when determining appropriate coverage for your vehicles. The terms used in a policy can be ambiguous and reading a policy is terribly boring.
Comprehensive (Other than Collision)
This pays for damage from a wide range of events other than collision. A deductible will apply then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive insurance covers things like a tree branch falling on your vehicle, damage from flooding, hail damage, damage from a tornado or hurricane and hitting a deer. The most a insurance company will pay at claim time is the ACV or actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much consider dropping full coverage.
Medical expense insurance
Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP reimburse you for immediate expenses for funeral costs, pain medications, dental work, doctor visits and surgery. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if you are not covered by health insurance. Medical payments and PIP cover not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants and also covers being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not universally available but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
Coverage for collisions
Collision insurance pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from a collision with another car or object. You have to pay a deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision can pay for claims like colliding with another moving vehicle, hitting a parking meter, driving through your garage door and damaging your car on a curb. This coverage can be expensive, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Drivers also have the option to increase the deductible to bring the cost down.
Coverage for liability
This protects you from damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property. This coverage protects you from claims by other people. Liability doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. Your policy might show liability limits of 25/50/25 which means a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, $50,000 for the entire accident, and $25,000 of coverage for damaged propery. Another option is one number which is a combined single limit which provides one coverage limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability can pay for things such as medical expenses, bail bonds and pain and suffering. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but you should buy as high a limit as you can afford.
Protection from uninsured/underinsured drivers
Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage gives you protection from other drivers when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. It can pay for medical payments for you and your occupants and damage to your 2018 Jaguar E-PACE.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is very important. Frequently these coverages are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
A little work can save a LOT of money
We just presented many ideas to shop for 2018 Jaguar E-PACE insurance online. It’s most important to understand that the more companies you get rates for, the better likelihood of getting cheap car insurance. Consumers could even find that the most savings is with the smaller companies.
While you’re price shopping online, it’s a bad idea to buy poor coverage just to save money. Too many times, an accident victim reduced uninsured motorist or liability limits only to regret at claim time that the few dollars in savings costed them thousands. Your goal is to purchase plenty of coverage at a price you can afford and still be able to protect your assets.
Lower-priced 2018 Jaguar E-PACE insurance is attainable both online and with local insurance agents, and you should compare price quotes from both so you have a total pricing picture. A few companies may not offer online quoting and many times these small insurance companies only sell through independent insurance agents.
